The rumors about the last months of the year are uncertain 2023 of Apple. According to some, the year of the Cupertino giant ended with the presentation of the new iPhone and the Apple Pencil with USB-C, according to others instead there would be still room for some surprises. According to Mark Gurman, for example, October will end with the debut of a new 24-inch iMac.
Apple’s October: not just the Apple Pencil, but also a new iMac
In the latest “issue” of his personal newsletter Power Onthe signature of Bloomberg reveals that Apple plans to launch other new products for the month of October, which is now coming to an end. The spotlight would be on an update to the 24-inch iMacwhose latest version – the one with the M1 chip – dates back to April 2021.
To support his indiscretion, Mark Gurman points out that in Apple Stores iMac drives are in short supply and 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and that some configurations won’t be available until mid-November. In short, “a clear sign that something is about to happen”, writes the journalist. As for the notebook, the models with M2 Pro and M2 Max were launched in January this year, but in this regard for Gurman “another update in the same year would be unusual, but not impossible”.
But when will the official presentation of a new made-in-Cupertino computer be? Gurman believes that the dates to circle on the calendar are October 30th and 31sttherefore just a few days away from the earnings conference (set for November 2).
No changes are expected in aesthetic terms, but “only” hardware improvements. The main upgrade, as is normal, should concern the processor, ed the transition to the M3 chip is almost certain (which during 2024 will also find space under the body of the new MacBook Air).
