In the past few hours, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco held an event during which, presenting two mid-range with flagship ambitions as Poco F4 and X4 GT, winked at gamers, offering performance, autonomy, and excellent displays.
Animated by Android 12 under the MIUI 13 interface, the Poco F4 (163.2 x 75.95 x 7.7 mm, for 195 grams), which arrives after its F4 GT variant, is expected in Moonlight Silver, Nebula Green, Night Black colors. The merit of the particular thinness of the device, which however compromises the possibility of having the audio jack, goes to only 2.76 mm of thickness of the display, a 6.67 ″ AMOLED panel, resolved in FullHD +, provided by Samsung (E7) with an aspect ratio at 20: 9, support for Dolby Vision / HDR10 +, 120 Hz refresh rate, 360 Hz touch sampling, very bright (1,300 nits peak) and contrasted (5000000: 1), still protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Curiously, the fingerprint scanner is placed on the side.
The hole in the top center offers a 20 megapixel self-camera (f / 2.45, panoramic selfie, face unlock): the back offers a rectangular bumper, which circumscribes the sensors of the triple camera in a circle: in the latter, benefiting from the functions AI Skyscaping 4.0 (replacement or enrichment of the sky) and AI Erase 2.0 (a magic eraser in Google Pixel style), it starts with a main sensor of 64 megapixel (1/2 “, f / 1.79, pixel binning 4in1 per pixel from 1.2 micrometers, optical stabilization, night photos), followed by an 8 (f / 2.2) ultra-wide angle (119 °) and a 2 megapixel macro sensor (1.75 micrometer pixels, f / 2.4). Aided by the Adreno 650 GPU, the octacore (3.2 GHz) Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor manufactured by TMSC with 7nm lithography supports 6 or 8 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128 or 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage. To keep the hot spirits of the device in check, 2nd generation LiquidCool Technology contributes, which brings up to 7 layers of graphite, a vapor chamber with a 3.112 square millimeter dissipation surface.
The autonomy, which can be explained in 119 hours of audio playback, 21 hours of video playback, 10 hours of gaming, is thanks to the 4,500 mAh battery, capable of charging quickly (100% in 38 min) at 67W, via Type-C and Middle Middle Tab technology (charging starts from the center and forks in two different directions). Connectivity with 5G, Dual SIM, infrared emitter, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and Wi-Fi 6 close the technical picture.
Poco F4 will be available on the brand’s website, with a discount that will bring the 6-128 GB version to 349.90 euros between June 27 and July 2: later, the price will settle at 399.90 euros. The 8 + 256 GB version, also sold on Amazon, will be discounted in the same promotional time range at 399.90 euros, and then go up to 449.90 euros.
Always with the same software choices and an all in all similar design (just think of the flat side frames), the Poco X4 GT (163.64 x 74.29 x 8.87 mm for 2 “grams) is also presented in silver colors, blue and black. Also placed in this case the infrared emitter at the top, the device is manageable thanks to the 20.5: 9 aspect ratio given to the display. The latter is a 6.6-inch FullHD + LCD, with 500 nits maximum brightness, 1,500: 1 contrast ratio, 144 Hz refresh rate, 270 HZ touch sampling, support for DCI-P3 color space and Dolby Vision. , True Display technology (sensor that adjusts brightness and color temperature depending on the environmental conditions), low mode (-30%) blue light, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The self-camera, 16 megapixel (1 / 3.06 ″, f / 2.45, pixel of 1 micrometer), is always contained in a hole in the center and supports face unlock: however, on the side there is the fingerprint scanner .
