Capable of running various emulators thanks to dual booting with Linux, the portable console RG353P by the specialist Anbernic arrives in pre-order complete with HDMI to play on the TV, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi ac, and integrated audio equipment.

Anbernic, a brand of the Chinese group Shenzhen YangLiMing Electronic Technology, with 13 years of experience in the sector, has announced a new retro console, with a vintage look, in the guise of Anbernic RG353P, created to emulate some of the best consoles of the past.

The new Anbernic RG353P recalls the design of the handheld consoles of the 90s and, in this sense, has all the buttons that one would expect, including the D-Pad, 4 buttons on the shoulders, two analog sticks and 4 action buttons. In the middle, there is a small 3.5-inch touch-sensitive LCD screen, resolved at 640 x 480 pixels, with excellent viewing angles being of the IPS type. To accompany the videogame involvement also the stereo speakers contribute.

Playable also connected to a TV, being equipped with HDMI, the Anbernic RG353P console has a 3.5 mm jack for headphones and two USB Type-C ports: of these, the one with the OTG supports data transfer, while the other serves to charge the battery which, from the top of its 3,500 mAh capacity, promises up to 6 hours of gaming according to the company.

At the helms of command, the Anbernic RG353P console places the Rockchip RK3566 processor, with 4 Cortex A55 cores with 1.8 GHz clock frequency, paired with an Arm Mali-G52 MP2 GPU: the RAM, which reaches 2 GB, it is of the LPDDR4X type, while the 32 GB storage belongs to the eMMC 5.1 type (expandable by another 512 GB through the second integrated microSD slot). The Android 11 operating system is installed on this last mnemonic element, the ROM, with the consequence that it is possible to download a bit of everything from the green robot’s Play Store.

Alongside this firmware, in dual boot, through the ad hoc slot in which a 16 GB microSD is inserted, a Linux customization able to emulate eg. the PlayStation Portable, the PS1, the Nintendo 64: currently, the portable console Anbernic RG353P can be pre-ordered at the price of 123.85 euros, in transparent black and gray, on the official store of the Chinese brand.
