Used to combine technological innovation and design, the Danish brand Bang & Olufsen has announced a new technologically stylish product, resulting in the 83-inch cut for the Beovision Harmony smart TV already including the 65, 77 and 88-inch diagonals (the latter in 8K).

The operating mechanism of the new 83 “Beovision Harmony is unchanged compared to the other iterations: off the TV or when listening to music, the screen of the same goes down towards the floor, and the covers, in oak-fabric or oak- aluminum, they close by covering part of the surface of the television set. When the TV is turned on, the two covers open like butterfly wings and the screen rises in order to be better visible. It should be noted that the covers in question are not a mere aesthetic element, since they cover the audio system of the TV.

The latter is a 3-channel system with frequency coverage from 29 Hz to 22,000 Hz, consisting of two 2.5 “(50W) full range drivers, a 1-inch (50W) central tweeter, two 4 inches (100W in total), and a 4 ″ midrange / woofer: the section in question supports various DTS formats (eg DTS HD-Master Audio 7.1), Dolby Digital 5.1, and Dolby Digital plus 7.1 and, thanks to the integration of a 7.1 decoder, it can connect up to a maximum of 8 speakers (eg Beolab 18/28/50/90).

On a visual level, the Beovision Harmony 83 uses an OLED WRGB panel resolved in UltraHD, with 100/120 Hz refresh rate, provided by LG Display which also used it on the C series smart TVs of the parent company.

Specifically, it is a screen with support for HLG, HDR10, and Dolby Vision (also the adaptive IQ), with the decoding of videos in HEVC, AV1 and VP9 formats, ensured by the on-board electronics, almost certainly represented by the 3rd generation Alpha 9 processor, also able to run the webOS 4.5 operating system, which brings Chromecast, AirPlay 2, DLNA and interaction with other sources, such as Bluetooth, and the implementation of services such as Tune- In and Deezer. With devices and sources manageable by the Beoremote One remote control, B&O’s new smart TV model will be on sale from 11 May starting at 21 thousand euros.
