The most common culprit for ChatGPT’s inability to save conversations is one unstable internet connection. To rule out this issue, open a new tab in your web browser and try loading a website other than OpenAI.

After the user logs out, log back in with their credentials and start a new chat session to check whether ChatGPT saves conversations correctly.

To check if this is the case, disable all browser extensions, then check whether ChatGPT saves conversations correctly. If so, activate the extensions one by one to identify and remove the one causing the interference.
For those who use Microsoft Edge, just click on the Extensions icon (the puzzle-shaped one) in the top bar and then on “Manage extensions”. Here you can remove the extensions one by one and activate them again by moving the switch to the right. The process is very similar Google Chrome.
