Carrying on what was fielded at CES 2022, the Taiwanese brand Acer has announced a new laptop which, powered by ChromeOS. as a Chromebook Spin 514 (also in Enterprise edition for companies), it updates last year’s model, offering an 85% increase in graphics performance and a 67% increase in response times thanks to AMD which has created just for Chromebook Ryzen 5000 processors in the ad hoc C series.

The new Chromebook Spin 514 (serial CP514-3H) has a high-strength chassis, capable of passing the MIL-STD 810H military tests, made of aluminum with, on the sides of the machine body, several ports including an optional HDMI 2.0 and two 2nd generation USB 3.2 Type-C.

Open wide, thanks to the 360 ​​° hinge, the Chromebook Spin 514 can assume 4 poses, or from tablet, notebook, tent and stand, for a great variety of uses: connected to the aforementioned hinge, the screen operates, between frames of just 6.1 mm, achieves 78% screen-to-body, in the form of a resolute 14-inch IPS LCD multi-touch panel in FullHD, with 100% sRGB color space coverage and Gorilla Glass protection (also used for the touchpad ).

The videoconferencing array includes a FullHD webcam with a mechanical shutter and an anti-flare system, then completed with two microphones and as many speakers pointing upwards. Under the keyboard, backlit, operate, in concert with the integrated graphics Radeon Vega Mobile, the Ryzen Mobile 3000 processors, based on the Zen 3 architecture, up to 8 x86 cores, of the C series, to be chosen between a Ryzen 7 3700C and a Ryzen 5 3500C.

The Wi-Fi 6 module also offers its services in the new Chromebook Spin 514 which, in terms of battery, integrates an energy unit capable of ensuring up to 10 hours of autonomy, also thanks to the energy saving features of the ChromeOS operating system with annex Play Store and related apps. In getting the new Acer Chromebook, there will be no rush: the manufacturer has declared its availability after the summer, starting from September, when you can get your hands on a Spin 514 (CP514-3H) starting from 749 euros , with the Enterprise version (CP514-3H) instead priced starting from 849 euros.
