During an intense announcement session, DELL has formalized the implementation of the renewal for the Latitude range of its professional notebooks which, although thin, grow in power and smart features.
DELL updates the professional notebooks of the Latitude range

Now put aside the new and luxurious 15.6 and 17.3 inch XPS, the American brand DELL has announced, for now without the price lists valid for the Italian market, news in the name of Intel 12th generation processors also for other lines of laptops, starting with Latitude.

Given the intention to “eliminate carbon emissions along the entire production chain by 2050”, the models updated during the event started with the use of 71% recycled aluminum for the backshell of the displays . The feet are in natural oil, the plastic parts are forged from oceanic or post-consumer plastic, while the carbon fiber sections use waste material taken from the production of bicycles, automotive or aerospace vehicles.

The new batch of notebooks of the past few hours (which, as we will see also includes Precision workstations) also benefits from improvements in the modularity of the DELL Optimizer tool, which proceeds according to the binaries of connectivity (simultaneous connection to two networks to speed up data transfer and reduce latency), privacy (the webcam sensors darken the screen when you look away or reduce its visibility if strangers enter the field), and collaboration (with neural networks also used to cancel noise and echo during the videocall).

Beginning from the Latitude series, the ultra-premium model is the Latitude 9430. The terminal offers thin bezels around the 14-inch WVA display with aspect ratio in 16:10, 500 nits of brightness, and 100% on the sRGB color range: the resolution it is QHD + (with touch) in the 2-in-1 model, weighing 1.4 kg, and FHD + in the standard model, weighing 1.27 kg. Topping the screen is a FullHD webcam with infrared.

The 12th gen Intel processors, up to the top i7 with vPro, are flanked by the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics card: the RAM (LPDDR5) can reach 32 GB while the SSD storage (M.2 2230 PCIe / NVMe Class 35) goes from 256GB to 1TB. The wireless connectivity section (WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, cellular 4G option via Snapdragon X20 modem or 5G via Snapdragon X55) is combined with a connectivity compartment that includes the audio jack, a memory card reader, two Thunderbolt 4, one HDMI 2.0, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 and the optional external tray for uSIM. Thanks to ExpressCharge 2.0, the 40 or 60 WHr battery can recover 80% in 40 minutes.

Slightly sheltered from the first is the Latitude 7000 notebook, which took place in the 7330 iterations (“the 16: 9 13-inch smallest and lightest in the world”. 16.9 mm thick for 0.967 kg, or 1.36 kg if convertible) with a 13.3 “and all the ports a professional may need (eg HDMI and USB Type-A), 7430 (17.2 mm thick for 1.22 Kg, or 1.35 Kg if convertible) with 14” display, and 7530 (17.5mm thick for 1.54 kg) with 15.6 “display. It should be noted that the 7330 convertible model is accompanied by the new Dell Premier, a rechargeable stylus equipped with a Tile module to be tracked via Bluetooth.

The visual area is entrusted, beyond the different dimensions, to WVA panels optimized by ComfortView Plus, with a choice between FullHD and (on 14 and 15.6 ”) 4K with option for touch: the webcam is FullHD. Stationed are the 12th generation Intel Alder Lake processors, P and U series, with an improved dissipation system that is now even quieter. a RAM of type LPDDR4 or LPDDR5, and a solid state storage (PCIe SSD) that goes to 1 TB.

The Latitude 5431 (14 “) and 5531 (15.6”) are resistant laptops (MIL-STD 810H) with almost always WVA FullHD display, although the 5531 version has touch options and can go up to UHD, with 100% on the sRGB scale and 400 nits: the logical section here includes Intel 12th gen series processors in the P / H series, integrated Iris Xe graphics cards that can be combined with the dedicated GeForce MX550, SSD storage with the latest generation of the PCIe interface, and RAM up to 64 GB of type DDR5 4800. The cellular option with 5G is also confirmed here, the most recent connectivity, thanks to the new processors, are substantiated in Wi-Fi 6E and Thunderbolt 4.

The 5 × 30 convertibles in Latitude 5330 with 13.3 “, 5430 with 14”, 5530 with 15.6 “also fall within the range: the screens are always FullHD of the WVA type (even if in the 5530 there is the option towards a 4K Comfort View). On the audio side, AI based noise cancellation is to be included. On the performance side operate the Intel 12th gen Core U / P processors with integrated Iris Xe GPU, a DDR4 RAM which, depending on the model, ranges from 32 to 64 GB, and an SSD storage up to 2 TB with a PCIe interface. Able to connect with Wi-Fi 6E, the laptops in question are complete as ports with microSD reader, two USB 3.2 Type-A, and as many Type-C with Display Port, Power Delivery and Thunderbolt 4, one HDMI 2.0. Security relies on the TPM 2.0 cryptographic chip, on the proprietary Bios and other DELL securities, and on the fingerprint.
