The 2022 version of DELL’s XPS 13 2-in-1 will arrive on the market by the summer, destined to be a real convertible, thanks to the cover with magnetic latch keyboard.

For at least a couple of weeks, there have been rumors of DELL’s intention to transform its XPS 13 ultrabook with reversible hinge into a true 2-in-1: the wait, it seems, is almost over as DELL has just unveiled the product in question, which will be formally launched this summer at an unknown price.
From a structural point of view, the 2022 model of the XPS 13 2-in-1, actually a real tablet, will imitate the Magic Keyboard of the rival Appel iPad through an XPS Folio cover keyboard with magnetic hooking keyboard capable of allowing three different inclination levels (100 / 112.5 / 125 degrees): the new XPS Stylus (also like the case keyboard to be purchased separately) will adhere to the device, always magnetically, on the upper frame, autonomous for 50 days, designed for a comfortable use with both right and left hand.
At a connective level, the variant with eSIM and optional 5G support is also envisaged, the latter will have the back in slate-colored Gorilla Glass 7, to shield signal interference, while the Wi-Fi-only version will have an aluminum frame.
For the XPS 13 2-in-1 2022 DELL uses a resolute 13 “display at 2880 x 1920 pixels, in 3: 2 format, with 500 nits of brightness, DisplayHDR 400 certified. In terms of cameras, there are two of them. : the front one for video calls is from 5 megapixels to 1080p, while the back one for capturing photos and videos reaches 11 megapixels (4K).
On the sides of the machine body both the microSD reader and the audio jack for headphones disappear: the manufacturer will compensate by including two adapters in the package, one of which is USB-C to USB-A and, precisely for headphones, one from USB-C to 3.5 mm. Among the ports, however, there will be two USB Type-C with Thunderbolt 4, Power Delivery and DisplayPort. The interior will house Intel 12th gen processors, a choice between the decacore i5-1230U (4.4 GHz maximum) and the decacore (4.7 GHz maximum) i7-1250U: for the RAM, LPDDR4x, the choice will be between 8 and 16 GB, while the options for SSD storage, PCIe 4, will allow up to 1 TB.
