Disable links in emails from opening with Edge

Microsoft explains how to avoid opening links to Outlook, Teams and, soon, Gmail in the Edge browser sidebar.

With an update to the FAQ describing the mechanism of opening mail messages next to web pages opened in Edge, Microsoft has clarified how one can disable automatic opening of emails in a browser pane.

To do this, you can type edge://settings/sidebar in the address bar then select for example Outlook from the list App settings and notifications. Finally, you have to deactivate the option Automatically open Outlook email context in the side pane.
