Long awaited, despite the rumors of the last few hours, to the sound of unboxing and leaked marketing material (also by leaker Jasper Ellens), DJI’s drone “for everyone” was finally presented, materializing in the DJI Mini 3 Pro, which can be driven without an APR license (even if the drone itself, depending on the take-off point on the d-flight.it maps, will take care to report the areas not allowed to fly over).

DJI Mini 3 Pro, compact (71 x 245 x 62 mm for 249 grams) and with a design that is not revolutionized compared to its predecessor, is the worthy standard bearer of the “Mini” line of small drones launched by the Chinese brand back in 2019 and today officially arrived in its third emanation, enriched with a pro justifiable by the technical specifications. On board the new drone, there is a new CMOS sensor with f / 1.7 aperture, sized at 1 / 1.3 inches, capable of taking 48 megapixel images, even in RAW, without fear of low light conditions (2.4 pixels micrometers that capture more light), as well as to create videos that reach up to 4K at 60 fps (in HDR it drops to 30 fps), with the zoom – digital type – linked to the resolution of the recording (e.g. up to 4x in FullHD, which drops to 2x in 4K).

Thanks to the ability to rotate the camera 90 ° it is possible, without sacrificing the quality of the sensor, to obtain creations in vertical format so suitable for the world of social media: from the associated app, the user can change the color profiles, always keeping in mind that, by selecting the D-Cinelike option (which allows the sensor to capture a wide dynamic range), you can then indulge yourself in post production. Those expecting several smart functions will not be disappointed given the ability to optimize in-flight footage also via Mastershots, QuickShots (Dronie, Spiral, Ascent, Circle, Boomerang, Asteroid), and Hyperlapse.

No less important is, due to the location of the obstacle detection sensors (now also with an increased field of view) below, in front and behind, the arrival of a tri-directional obstacle detection, which offers a vision in practice 180 ° of what surrounds the drone. Ipso facto, the DJI Mini 3 Pro offers support for the “APAS 4.0” function (advanced pilot assistance systems of 4th gen) which traces the safest shooting path bypassing obstacles, while the complete set of features (Spotlight 2.0, Point of Interest 3, ActiveTrack 4.0) “FocusTrack” will ensure that the drone can resume following the user automatically and at the same time avoiding obstacles. Obviously, the Ocusync 3 transmission system will not be missing (capable of ensuring, up to 12 km away, a completely clear 1080p view).

Able to fly in different modes (eg. Normal, Sporty for those who love sudden changes, or Cinematic for those who want to perform well-stabilized suggestive movies with smooth transitions), the DJI Mini 3 Pro, in terms of autonomy, with the standard battery , reaches 34 minutes of flight, exceeded thanks to the “intelligent” battery plus, which allows you to fly for 47 minutes, even if it falls within different regulations, given that the weight increases with it. On the control side, in addition to the option for control via smartphone app (which will reduce the price of the drone to 739 euros), the kit (829 euros) with the DJI RC-N1 remote control (equipped with support for devices) will also be available mobile) and the one (999 euros) with the DJI RC remote control, equipped with a 5.5-inch display (so as not to have to mount your smartphone on it).

By opting for the “FlyMore” kit (+189 euros) you will also get a shoulder bag, two sets of propellers, a two-screen charging station, with two standard batteries attached while, turning to the “Fly More Kit Plus (+ 249 euros), you will get the same things as the first kit with the difference that the two batteries included will be the increased ones.
