Facebook message requests
One of the methods to read received messages that have not been included in the main box is to open the official Facebook site, click on the Messenger icon at the top and then on See all on Messenger. From the message page, press on the button with the three dots (in the contact bar on the left side) and press on Message requests.
This screen should list some messages received from people not included among friends, but that we can still know for Facebook. You might be surprised by the number of messages received in this section, made up mostly of advertisements and spam from completely unknown accounts, who may have tried to contact us without being our friends or just using our remote friendship in common.
To avoid that this section is filled with messages, we avoid providing friendship to anyone and we remove the “fake” friendships, as also seen in the guide See pending, declined, or canceled Facebook friend requests.
Find Archived Messages
On Facebook Messenger, there is another section that, instead, includes all messages received from people or chat groups that we have archived in the past. To see this section we always press on the three dots at the top (inside Messenger) and open this time Archived chats.
Archived chats will not be shown in the app unless we resume writing in them: if we find any old chats or interesting groups it may be worth visiting this section so that we can reconnect old broken relationships.
Hidden Messages on the Messenger App
The same hidden sections of the messages are also visible dall’app Facebook Messenger, which we can download for free from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The app is the fastest and safest way to access friends’ chats on Facebook, given that the official Facebook app does not provide any access to mobile messages (although there is an alternative, as we will see in the final chapter of the guide).
Once the app is installed, open it, confirm access with the Facebook account already present on the phone (alternatively we quickly log in with a phone number or an account already active on the phone or tablet), and access the secret sections we have seen at the top by pressing the icon of our profile at the top and then pressing on the menus Message requests e Archived chats. The menus contain the same messages seen also in the PC browser so that we can filter or delete those that we do not consider appropriate.

Conclusions
As also mentioned in one of the chapters preceding the ad any message request or archived message can be answered as you normally would, so as to bring them back to the main section and continue chatting. Since these messages can come from anyone, if there are links, it is better not to click on them because they could be very dangerous viruses.
