Apple has been adopting it for several years now a strategy to protect the environment. This is based on the use of renewable energy, low carbon emissions, and the use of recycled and renewable materials. In this regard, among the most recent innovations is the FineWoven fabricwhich replaced leather on practically all made-in-Cupertino accessories, including cases.

However, something didn’t go right. In fact, since the debut of accessories in FineWoven, they have been circulating a certain discontent among Apple users. The reason? Despite the cost which is not at all low (a case for iPhone 15 costs €69, a key ring for AirTag costs €49), these they would tend to get ruined too easily.
The reports, according to an indiscretion launched on X by a well-known leaker, would have led Apple to make a decision on the matter: stop production of premium accessories in FineWoven fabric and find a valid alternative (perhaps Alcantara?).

To date there is nothing confirmed yet and FineWoven accessories, despite the negative reviews available online, are still purchasable. For more details we will probably have to wait for the launch of the new Apple Watch and iPhone in September. However, there is a clue that goes in this direction: the Californian company has recently enriched its range of accessories with the usual “spring update”, but (surprisingly?) there is no trace of FineWoven cases in new colors. In fact, the news only concerns silicone cases and straps for iPhone and Apple Watch respectively.
How reliable is the leaker who launched the news? Kosutami in the past it has proved particularly reliable, having revealed the Apple Watch straps with “woven fabric” well in advance and – staying on topic – also the first images of the accessories in FineWoven fabric.
