During the recently concluded edition of Computex 2022, the Taiwanese brand Asus did not only present the new ExpertBook notebooks or the 500 Hz gaming monitor but, addressing professional users, also fielded the new minipc of the ExpertCenter series PN, characterized by a “ribbed chassis with beveled edges”, a thermal design suitable for the volume (1 liter category) and dimensions (120 x 130 x 58 mm, for 1 kg), an easy upgrade by means of the access to memories, from the Windows 11 Pro operating system and from the MyASUS tool (intelligent fan adjustment via Smart fan control and smart bidirectional noise cancellation via Way AI Noise Cancelation).

Starting with the most interesting model, the PN64 is an ExpertBook employing Intel 12th generation Alder Lake H-series processors, including an i3-1220p with the integrated Intel UHD GPU and, for better configurations, i7-12700H or i5- processors. 12500H, both equipped on the motherboard with an Iris Xe iGPU particularly suitable for office tasks. Thanks to two SODIMM slots, it is possible to arrive as DDR5 RAM (4800) up to 32 GB, while the storage includes a SATA3.0 slot (6 Gbps) and an M.2 2280 slot (with PCIe 4.0 × 4 interface).

Among the ports, the ExpertBook PN64 has five USB 3.2 2nd gen (two Type-C, one with DisplayPort 1.4, and PowerDelivery input), a pair of HDMI 2.0, the 3.5 mm combo jack, and an RJ45 for the 2.5G LAN (via Intel card). Equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity, in the model in question the power supply is via a 120W charger.

In the ExpertCenter PN52 the AMD Ryzen processors operate, at choice, scaling in performance, including Ryzen 9 5900HX, Ryzen 7 5800H, Ryzen 6 5600H, all with consequent integrated GPU, Radeon Mobile. On the memory side you always get to 32 GB of RAM, via two SODIMM slots, but of the DDR4 3200 type while the storage, compared to what was seen in the first model, has two slots for M.2 SSDs (PCIe 3.0). The USB 3.2 ports consist of five 1st generation (one Type-C) and one 2nd generation Type-C (with PD and DisplayPort).

In the ExpertCenter PN52 miniPC, the Gigabit LAN in this case is entrusted to Realtek, while the two HDMIs are level 2.1: the 3.5 mm combo jack, the Wi-Fi 6E and BT 5.2 connectivity, and the 120W power supply remain.
