During the X Summit OMIYA 2022 event intended for the presentation of new products, the Japanese brand Fujifilm presented its new Fujifilm X-H2 and X-H2S mirrorless cameras, with APS-C format, ready to compete with the recent rivals of Canon.

Intended to be presented in greater detail during the September Summit event, the X-H2 camera was only hinted at as having a 40 megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor which, as it is not stacked, will provide photos. its high resolution and the many details it can capture, also paying homage to snapshots of nature and sporting events thanks to a very rapid burst.

Completely presented, however, it turned out to be the Fujifilm X-H2S camera (July, body only at € 2,799.99), robust and waterproof, a worthy heir to the Fujifilm X-H1 version presented 4 years ago, in 2018: celebrations aside, the newcomer, behind, has a resolute 3-inch 1.62 megapixel LCD display and, in front, it comes with a 26.16 megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 stacked sensor, 4 times faster than the previous model which, enabled to collaborate with a faster (by 30x, up to 1 GHz peak) X-Processor 5 processor and with a co-processor (from 600 MHz) dedicated to the 5-axis Ibis in-body stabilizer (7 stops maximum), can operate pretty good, even in the car, with almost no need for a gimbal.

The bursts reach 40 fps (in AF and AE) with the electronic shutter, even without blackout in the viewfinder (a 0.5-inch OLED panel resolved in 5.76 megapixels, with aspherical lenses, 120 Hz refresh rate and magnification at 0 , 8X), which drop to 15 fps via mechanical shutter.

On the video side, this camera also records in 4K @ 120p or 6.2K@30p, with support for the ProRes 422 HQ, HEIF, H.265 codecs, in the F-Log2 format (14 stops of dynamic range), on coupons CFexpress Type B (max 1,700 MB / s) via dedicated slot, present together with that for SD UHS-II. On the Fujifilm X-H2S, great attention has also been given to automatic focusing, via an AI-based algorithm which, in recognizing various subjects (cars, planes, birds, motorcycles, pets, people) with greater precision, anticipates them. the movements.
