The Taiwanese brand Gigabyte, with an unbridled passion for gaming, as seen with the PC in mid-June, has also included in its price list for gamers a smart display, useful for consoles and PCs, with the name of Gigabyte S55U.

The product in question, despite the absence of the tuner for digital terrestrial, can indeed also be a replacement for the TV: the Android operating system, obviously optimized with small goodies for gamers (viewfinder, Aim Stabilizer Sync, Black Equalizer, etc. ), brings mirroring via Chromecast and Assistant support. In addition, it allows you to download various streams from the Play Store, including Netflix and, with themed channels, Pluto TV.

Obviously, the drive of the Gigabyte S55U is for gaming (just think of the 120 Hz refresh rate, the support for AMD FreeSync Premium, the 2-5 ms response time from gray to gray, and the auto lowering latency – ALLM – when gaming).

Characterized by values ‚Äč‚Äčthat could also interest image professionals (e.g. contrast at 5000: 1, 1,500 peak brightness nits, DCI-P3 and sRGB color gamuts covered at 96 and 140% respectively), the monitor Gigabyte S55U uses a 54.6-inch LCD with vertically aligned LEDs, Quantum-Dot technology, with 4K resolution and HDR support: the backlight, thanks to local dimming, obtains 132 control zones, with further benefits to visual quality. obtainable from various image modes, including HDR10 +, SDR, Dolby Vision IQ.

On the audio level, the Gigabyte S55U monitor, always with ad hoc modes (including sports, music and movies), relies on two 10W speakers each, designed to manage the Dolby Atmos format: the ports, on the other hand, provide for a trio of USB, an RJ45 for the LAN (however present Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth), a poker of HDMI (two 2.0 and as many 2.1), and an audio jack.
