A year has now passed since the AORUS Model S gaming computer was brought into the field, animated at the time by AMD Ryzen 5000 processors or, alternatively Intel, Tiger Lake. In the meantime, the advances announced by the chipmakers have started a round of presentations in terms of hardware products, which was recently joined by the Taiwanese Gigabyte on the occasion of Computex 2022 which, for the occasion, has updated the desktop of which above, with the best of current Intel Alder Lake production.
The renewed AORUS Model S, by reason of its dimensions, from 190 x 189 x 400 mm, and therefore of a volume equal to 14 liters, falls into the category of so-called SFF (small form factor) computers. The space proves to be sufficient not only to mount an active thermal dissipation system (through two fans, one of which is 120 and one from 140 mm), but also and above all to place good amounts of memory (32 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM , 2 TB of SSD M.2 PCIe 4.0) next to an Intel Z690 Express motherboard, under the banner of a chipset on which the i7-12700K processor is inserted.
Dataset in hand, it is a 12 core (8 high performance 5.0 GHz cores in Turbo Boost 3.0, 4 high efficiency cores) with 20 threads released in November 2021. Alongside it is the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 graphics card. , based on the Intel Xe architecture (from 1.5 GHz), but not only: the computer in question, in fact, does not miss the dedicated GPU RTX 3070 from Nvidia. The HDMI and Display Port ports (1 for each type) are connected to the motherboard, while a pair of HDMI 2.1 and as many DisplayPort 1.4a point to the Nvidia graphics card. The ports supplied to the AORUS Model S computer just renewed by Gigabyte certainly do not end here, on the contrary.
The 14-liter small form factor desktop just mentioned also sports a second generation USB 3.2, two 3.5mm jacks (one for the microphone and one for the headphones, with separate inputs to avoid any possible interference), plus to an RJ45 port for Gigabyte Ethernet Lan (2.5 Gbit) and seven USB Type-As belonging to various standards. In terms of wireless connectivity, thanks to the connection of an Intel branded modem, it will be possible to benefit both from Bluetooth 5.2, to connect peripherals in the vicinity, or exchange data with the smartphone, as well as Wi-Fi ax / 6, to connect to the internet without the clutter of cables.
The energization of the renewed Gigabyte AORUS Model S is instead up to a 750 W “80 Plus (Gold)” rated power supply: at the moment, the manufacturer has not yet disclosed its marketing projects, price included, relating to the renewed “monster ”From gaming just illustrated.
