Gionee P50 Pro: a bit iPhone, a bit Huawei, with a hyper low cost heart

Without too much fuss, in the name of a product almost certainly relegated to Asia, the curious Doogee P50 Pro appeared on sale in China, with a stylistic mix of Apple and Huawei and a processing engine of a real forklift or spare device. .

The main peculiarity of the Chinese brand Gionee is that of churning out smartphones that are aesthetically very similar to more prestigious models of well-rated rivals, with a low-cost heart, however, in order to satisfy those who aim for appearance, but do not intend to spend too much. True to its “history”, the brand in question has just exhibited the new entry level Gionee P50 Pro in China.

The Gionee P50 Pro (165 x 77.3 x 8.9 mm for 211 grams), designed in the colors dark blue, brilliant black, and crystal, has a front that is very reminiscent of the iPhone 13, with a notch at the top in which a small section square it houses the 5 megapixel self-camera, prepared – thanks to the contribution of artificial intelligence – to scan the face. However, securtiva biometrics can also count on a fingerprint scanner, located on the side frame in the power button.

The optimization of the frames appears well taken care of, on 3 of the 4 sides (chin excluded) of the display, a 6.51 inch FullHD + LCD panel, parameterized according to an aspect ratio of 20: 9, therefore rather oblong, with a screen-to-body which reaches 93%. Behind, to be targeted, is another top of the range, however, from Huawei, with its Huawei P50 Pro (not surprisingly also referred to in the name): in particular, you can see two large and suggestive portholes of equal size, one with two elements and one with three.

These numbers, however, do not deceive, since there is actually only one photographic sensor, 13 megapixel, equipped for macros, portraits embellishments, HD night shots, etc.

The hyper low cost nature of the Gionee P50 Pro is also betrayed by the processing heart, as a quadcore processor (2 GHz) Tiger T310, made in 2019 at 12 nanometers by Unisoc, paired with the Mali-G71 MP2 graphics card: combining the quantities of RAM, from 4 or 6 GB, with those of the storage, from 64 and 128 GB, you get the three configurations, from 4 + 64. 4 + 128 and 6 + 128 GB, respectively sold, on JD.com, for 659 yuan (93 euros), 739 yuan (105 euros) and 759 yuan (108 euros). The battery, from 3,900 mAh, receives the charge via Type-C at 10W: there is no shortage of Dual SIM, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G LTE.
