With the easing of the coronavirus restrictions, Google, which during the pandemic provided many useful news for traveling safely, has announced, through its official blog, some improvements that will help plan their summer holidays.

It “starts” from Google Flights. As is known, even in the past it was possible to find the cheapest flight (as well as, but this is another matter, the one with the lowest CO2 emissions): it was only necessary to specify a specific date. With today’s news, however, by resorting to the “Any date” option, you will receive an email notification if, in the range of 3/6 months, the system will reveal cheaper rates than the usual ones (already today much higher than those just a month ago).

When it comes to hotel search, the Google map welcomes new levels of interest. In particular, at the top left of the map there are the options that allow you to find out which areas (indicated in color) have the most opportunities to visit the city, find places to shop or eat.

At the bottom of the Hotel search map, there is a pill by intervening on which a function is manually activated which is now automatically integrated into the search system in question: when you go to search for a hotel or a holiday home by entering a given position in the form, the system will show a switch which, when chosen, will allow you to highlight all those properties that are at a certain distance (15 or 30 minutes) by moving by car or on foot. Therefore, when having to participate in a conference or attend an exhibition, the user can find a place to base that is closest to the event that interests him.

Also on the Google Flights site, the section on the left, Explore, has now been enriched with the “Explore the surroundings” function, already active in the Bel Paese. In this case, after selecting a destination, on the map on the right you will see it represented by a pink dot, on which the pop-up called “Explore the surroundings” will stand out, touching which all those places a few hours away (indicated ) of travel by car.

Finally, for support purposes during planning, it becomes possible to save (thanks to the bookmark icon) also rented houses or hotels as “favorites”, and then find everything, when necessary, in the right panel on the desktop side platform, or in the Saved tab on the mobile side.
