Google Meet: Now it will be easier to switch between devices

Thanks to an update, the service of Google Meet it will be even more comfortable than in the past.

In fact, a button called “Switch here” which will allow you to transfer a call from one device to another, without the need to manually disconnect and reconnect.

As stated by Google on a post in the official blog, this new feature fits perfectly with the current world, in which users have to deal with multiple electronic devices at the same time.

For the Mountain View company, in this market niche, the competition is high to say the least: the competitors in play are in fact Microsoft Teams e Zoom, two software highly appreciated by users. The introduction of an easy switch system, in fact, could be considered as the proverbial tip of the scales. Video conferencing software has achieved a real boom in users since last March 2020, coinciding with the pandemic.

Apparently the new feature will be freeboth for corporate Google accounts than for those personal. As far as implementation is concerned, we are talking about a couple of weeks of waiting.

The new Google Meet feature is not an absolute novelty

In reality, it should be remembered that the feature soon to be implemented on Google Meet is not entirely original. The first app to have introduced something similar was FaceTime Of Apple which allows device switching during calls, allowing users to switch between iPhone a Mac o iPad without particular difficulties.

Changing devices during the call should be easy for everyone to operate. While you are participating in a video conference with Google Meet, just press the appropriate button that we have already talked about.

In the announcement of this implementation, Google underlined how, when the session is transferred to another device, the one previously used will be disconnected.
