Google unveils the new mid-range smartphone Pixel 7a: let’s analyze the technical characteristics in detail and find out the prices in Europe, where it is already available today through the official store.
During the keynote Google I/O 2023 has finally been presented Google Pixel 7a, the most talked about smartphone of this period and a new member of the Pixel 7 family, ready to be successful in the mid-range of the smartphone market. Let’s see its technical specifications and prices in Europe, where it is already available a few hours after the announcement.
Google Pixel 7a if presented with a display OLED FHD+ da 6,1 polliciwith a maximum refresh rate of 90 Hz, a symmetrical panel thanks to slightly thick black borders and a camera compartment featuring a 13 MP front sensor on notch punch holeand two photographic sensors on the back: the main one is a Quad PD Quad Bayer 64 MP while the secondary is a 13 MP ultra-wide angle.
It is a upgrade important compared to its predecessor Pixel 6a: According to data provided by Google, the primary sensor is 72% larger and captures 44% more light. Under “the body”, however, is the proprietary Tensor G2 processor already seen on the “older brothers” Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, with a security co-processor Titan M2, Private Compute Core and other hardware-software security solutions such as Google One VPN, use of end-to-end encryption and Android System Intelligence.
The rest of the hardware configuration provides 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM memory and 128 GB of non-expandable UFS 3.1 internal storage, while the drums it is 4,385 mAh with 18W recharge and autonomy estimated at 24/72 hours (the latter value obtainable by opting for the extreme energy saving profile).
On the side of connectivity Google Pixel 7a supports 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 6E, NFC and integrates a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port. The pre-installed operating system is obviously Android 13with a minimum of five years of security updates.
