Not even a month has passed since the presentation of the new Galaxy S24s when we are already talking about what’s to come. The rumors are already bringing up the next one Galaxy S25 and what will compose it, for which also it Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 which Qualcomm evidently already has in the pipeline.

Those waiting for news regarding the technical specifications of Samsung’s future top of the range products, however, are not in the right place. Today the discussion concerns who will be able to compete for the scepter with the next Galaxy S25 by mounting the same processor. In recent days there has been talk of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 8 with the code name “Tongzi“, while now there is talk of another company that will certainly adopt it as the beating heart of its future smartphones.

The Galaxy S25s will have a rival with the same processor: who else will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4?

The latest chipset that Qualcomm has designed and made official, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, currently powers the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the OnePlus 12 and several other flagships in the Android world. We are undoubtedly talking about one of the best processors there will be in 2024 and obviously its successor is expected to continue on the same wavelength.

Recently, some news has appeared on the web regarding the first results of a sample unit of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. According to the benchmarks provided by Geekbench 6, a score of 2845 in single-core and an impressive 10628 multi-core. These results clearly exceed those achieved by the current top-of-the-range chipsets, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the A17 Pro compared to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

Given that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will most likely feature this new processor, the name of a rival has also emerged: the Xiaomi 15 Pro. Also in this case we are very far from the official launch, also because the Xiaomi 14 range has not yet been launched globally. However, further information regarding technical details and timing will follow.
