Honor Magic 4 Lite: official the mid-range with a déjà-vu flavor

A few days after the launch of the X7 model, the Chinese brand Honor has made official, by inserting it in its transalpine HiHonor store, the new Honor Magic 4 Lite mid-range smartphone, designed in Midnight Black, Titanium Silver, and Ocean Blue colors. On the same day, the brand showed off, however, in the domestic market, a new base for wireless charging.

The “new” Honor Magic 4 Lite, strongly related to the mid-range X9 5G seen in Malaysia and with the X30 fielded in China, aesthetically retains a strong resemblance to the “brothers” Honor Magic 4, 4 Pro and 4 Ultimate: specifically, the chassis (166.07 x 75.78 x 8.05 mm, for 189 grams) on the back has a porthole in the center, with the triple camera sensors arranged in an X together with the LED flash. On the side is the fingerprint scanner.

The detail in question is a confirmation of the fact that the display, from 6.81 inches, resolved in FullHD + (385 PPI) according to an aspect ratio of 19.9: 9, with 120 Hz refresh rate, and excellent viewing angles (IPS), is an LCD panel. The hole, at the top center, is the natural seat for the self-camera, from 16 megapixel (f / 2.45): at the bottom, the front exhibits a small chin. Continuing in the multimedia section, the photographic arrangement towards third parties comes into play, consisting of a triple camera, with a main sensor of 48 (f / 1.8, phasic focus, 1080p @ 30fps video), one for the depth from 2 megapixels (f / 2.4) and one for macros, again 2 megapixels (f / 2.4).

The 8-core processor (2.2 GHz) and 6 nanometers of lithography, or the Snapdragon 695, brings with it the associated graphics card, the Adreno 619, and the modem for 5G: the only mnemonic set-up envisaged contemplates 6 GB for RAM and 128 GB for storage which, unfortunately, cannot be expanded. Ipso facto, the Dual SIM of the device which, among other connectivity, also includes GPS (A-GPS, Beidou, Glonass), Wi -Fi ac / 5 dual band (direct, hotspot), Bluetooth 5.1 (A2DP), NFC for payments, and microUSB Type-C with OTG.

The battery of the Honor Magic 4 Lite, from 4,800 mAh, thanks to the fast charging of 66W, recovers 80% of energy in just 30 minutes. The Android 11 operating system completes the overview of the device, with relative benefits drawn from the proprietary interface Magic UI 4.2 and, obviously, Google services in tow.

In China, Honor presented, on the other hand, the SuperCharge 100W base (399 yuan, about 58 euros) which, compatible with the Honor Magic 4 Pro and Magic 4 Ultimate smartphones, is able to recharge the batteries from 0 to 100% in 35 minutes. The base in question, made of metal, is inclined by 65 ° and, thanks to the two integrated coils, supports the smartphone both horizontally and vertically: a dynamically regulated fan completes its constitution to keep charging temperatures low and silent, and a dual function LED, indicating the charging status and, when it flashes, the proximity of metal objects that could “compromise safety”.
