Always in step with the times, like Gigabyte and other companies, the American HP also took the opportunity of Intel’s latest announcements to update the Zbook G series workstations which, in the guise of ZBook Studio G9 and ZBook Fury G9 notebooks, they make (from June) a decisive leap in performance, without changing the look of the past generation.

The new ZBook Studio G9 (1.73 kg) and ZBook Fury G9 (2.4 kg) share several specifications, starting with, within frames optimized to maximize screen-to-body, from the display, a capable professional-grade HP DreamColor OLED panel. to cover the DCI-P3 color gamut at 100%, but with a 120 Hz refresh rate that would satisfy even the players, and a 16:10 more useful than last year’s 16: 9. At the helm under the keyboard with RGB backlighting per key operate the 12th generation Intel processors of the HX series, therefore of the 55 W desktop class TDP chips, expected up to the top Core i9 with vPro option.

The RAM, of the DDR5 type, can touch 128 GB, while the storage can go up to 4 TB, obviously in the form of SSD (with the latest PCI-E 5.0 interfaces). In both cases, the hot spirits are kept at bay by a dissipation system that involves the use of the Vapor Chamber.

Always benefiting from current connections, such as wired Thunderbolt 4 and wireless Wi-Fi ax / 6, the two notebooks diverge a bit for the intended use, with the first model more suitable for professionals, given the adoption of the top graphics if you opt for Nvidia’s dedicated RTX A5500 GPU (often recommended for simulation routines, 3D design and machine learning), while the latter has greater versatility of target and use, as ascertained by the presence of options also for Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Ti discrete GPU or AMD’s Radeon Pro.

Together with the two notebooks mentioned above, HP also exhibited the Thunderbolt 4 G4 dock ($ 439), which brings a recharge for the devices thanks to the 280 watts maximum delivered (120W in the $ 329 version), and with data transfer ultra-fast (40 Gbps): another potential accessory of the G9 workstations could then be represented by one of the two new monitors for professionals put in the field, including the different twins HP Z24q G3 and Z24m G3 (with pop-up webcam), both with 23.8 inch IPS LCD panels resolved in QHD with 90Hz refresh rate.
