So far, HTC has baptized the new year with a smartphone for the metaverse, the Desire 22 Pro: now it’s up to the tablet category to be paid attention by the Taipei brand which, in this regard, has just presented in Russia (with an upcoming arrival also in the South Africa) the low cost tablet HTC A101.

Colored in gray or silver, the unibody metal frame (241.5 x 160.3 x 8.4 mm for 530 grams) of the HTC A101 features a 10.1-inch, IPS LCD-type display with in-cell technology (more responsiveness, less reflections) Resolute in FullHD + (1920 x 1200 pixels): The 5 megapixel self-camera (f / 2.2, fixed focus, AI embellishments, 720p video), supports face unlock for security. The back offers a rare (for the tablet type) dual camera with LED Flash.

To make it up, on the HTC A101 is a main sensor from 13 (f / 2.2, autofocus, automatic shutter with 10 seconds timer, video at 1080p @ 30fps, photos while recording a clip) and a secondary 2 megapixel sensor, for the depth. It should be noted that, along the perimeter, in terms of audio, there is the 3.5 mm mini-jack for headphones or earphones but, on one of the two long sides, the presence of pogo pins also confirms that it is possible to connect an optional magnetic keypad for productivity.

The already seen (on the rival Alldocube iPlay 40) octacore (2.0 GHz) Unisoc Tiger T618 at 12 nanometers with Mali G52 MP2 GPU uses 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to an additional 256 GB. The software heart of the HTC A101 tablet is Android 11. The hardware-software processing mix proposed so far manages autonomy, drawing energy from the 7,000 mAh battery, which can be charged via microUSB Type-C (OTG) at 10 W, therefore unfortunately in an absolutely not short period of time.

The remaining connectivity features in the HTC A101 dual band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual SIM with 4G LTE cat.4, and GPS (with support for Galileo and Glonass satellite networks): the price, in the Russian market , is 19,890 rubles (about 334 euros).
