Chat for up to 30 participants, exclusive posts and Reels, a special card that acts as a showcase are the new initiatives announced by Menlo Park as an enhancement of subscriptions in favor of creators.

According to CEO Adam Mosseri, Instagram must become the place where creators, assimilated to companies, can earn a living. As part of this, the platform will field a long series of initiatives, the first “steps” of which have resulted in a triptych of new functions just announced through a video tweet.
As is known, last January Instagram began testing subscriptions, for which creators could charge a monthly fee ranging from $ 0.99 to $ 99.99, in exchange for which subscribers would be provided with exclusive content such as confidential stories, live videos. , as well as a badge that distinguishes them when they comment on a post or chat with their favorite in DMs (private messages).
As explained more fully in a post on Meta’s blog, as part of a process to expand the aforementioned subscriptions, the first initiative put in place by Instagram for creators is the “Subscriber Chats”, based on the Messenger infrastructure: with it, creatives will be able to start chats with up to 30 participating subscribers, with whom they can discuss specific topics, in order to “build a stronger community”.
The Subscriber Chat can be started from within the DM section (private messages) or by affixing on a Story, normal or for subscribers only, the sticker “Join the chat”, by tipping on which the subscriber will be allowed to participate in a chat specific, in case there are still free places left.
Another function announced by Instagram that expands subscriptions is that which will allow creators to create exclusive posts and Reels for subscribers, characterized by a purple banner and a white crown. The latest news, however, is the “Subscriber Home”, basically a tab in the creators’ profile, in which all the contents (eg posts, Reels, live backups) created for subscribers will be grouped.
