Meanwhile, the development of other functions aimed at increasing user safety is proceeding, the photo-sharing platform Instagram has officially announced the release of a novelty in this area.

Last July, Instagram, with the aim of offering users greater control over their platform experience, announced the “Sensitive Content Control” function: the latter allowed you to establish how many sensitive content to see or not, being able to choose between three different options. Standard, the default one, allowed you not to see sensitive content at all, More allowed you to see a little more than the basic level, Less to see a little less. In order to meet the needs of parents, worried by the danger of exposure of minors to content they cannot manage emotionally and psychologically, it was established that the “More” option would not be made available to users who were under the age of 18. .

At the time, the “Sensitive Content Control” function was only operational in the Explore section. In the past few hours, through a post on its official blog, Instagram announced that, in the coming weeks, the function in question will be available on all surfaces where the platform makes suggestions, so that the user can determine how many accounts or sensitive content to see among the Reels, in Search, in the section on Accounts you may follow, and on the hashtag page.

If you have already been enabled for the novelty, to use it just follow a few simple steps. First, touch your thumbnail at the bottom right, and then the hamburger icon at the top right (3 horizontal lines): in “Settings” you must choose “Account” and then “Control of sensitive content. Here you will find the three options above, rendered in Italian as “Limit” (default), “Limit even more”, and “Allow” (more photos and videos that could be offensive or annoying).

From the leaker Alessandro Paluzzi, some indiscretions have arrived on functions still in preparation. The first concerns the idea of providing Business and Creators accounts with a shortcut for settings within the Direct section (internal private messaging). For some time, Instagram has created the Close Friends function to limit the audience of the Stories: one day it may be possible to limit another category of content, namely live videos, to this narrow range.
