Instagram continues to be one of the reference social networks worldwide and Meta knows this well: for this reason it is thinking, for example, of increasing the maximum duration of Reels, also to compete directly with TikTok. The Chinese platform has been above Instagram for years in terms of number of users and content viewed, and Mark Zuckerberg and his associates have been trying to recover lost ground for some time with new features and adjustments to the user experience.
One of the fans’ great requests, however, will never be granted… or maybe yes? Since the launch of the social network, the public continues to ask an official application for iPad with an ad hoc interface, but the answer has always been negative. In these hours, however, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri has released a very interesting statement via his Stories.
Instagram may be coming to iPad: here’s when
As taken from WccftechMosseri stated that releasing Instagram on iPad is not a priority, but it is not even an eventuality to be completely ruled out. To yet another request from a user, he replied that the company “is not working on it at the moment”, but that it could arrive in the future provided that the number of users is sufficiently high. That is, in the event that the device were to achieve success on the market not equal to that of the iPhone, since it is impossible, but adequate to justify the development of the dedicated app.
From the company’s point of view, Instagram makes more sense on iPhone since it enjoys more immediate use both for viewing content and – above all – for creating it. The advantage of the iPad is represented by larger displaywhich ensures more videos and posts can be watched with a better interface, and a superior editing experience for brands and influencers.
It will therefore be interesting to see if Meta changes its mind in the future and is convinced by the many users who are impatiently awaiting the debut of Instagram on iPad.
