iOS 17, the new beta brings back the 3D Touch

The announcement of iOS 17, the new version of the operating system reserved for iPhones, amazed with the great innovations it introduced. Everything will be official starting next September, during the presentation of the new Apple devices. At the moment, however, the most passionate users can still try the new release which is in fact available in beta.

Yesterday the new update arrived, the one that released the second beta of iOS 17. Several minor innovations have popped up inside it, useful for improving some still immature aspects, but that’s not all. Apple has decided to reintroduce an old feature that in the past was a cause of love and hate.

In the spotlight ends the 3D Touchfeatures that Apple’s most loyal users will certainly remember.

iOS 17, the beta 2 brings users a great return: here is the 3D Touch

Starting with iPhone 6s, an unprecedented feature was inaugurated, namely 3D Touch. Based on pressure applied to the screen, different solutions opened up, thus expanding the user experience. A few years later, more precisely from the iPhone XR, 3D Touch disappeared to make way for the haptic touch but now Apple has decided to amaze everyone.

Those who have downloaded the second beta of iOS 17 have noticed that a third item has appeared in the haptic touch menu. In addition to “short” and “long”, here is “default” which in terms of responsiveness represents the “short” item seen in iOS 16.

To hide the functionality that brings users back to 3D Touch is the new “short” item. Although the screens do not have this technology, by choosing this option in the menu, users will be able to get very close to the old 3D touch functionality.

Most likely all this will also be transferred to iPadOS 17 with the next updates.
