Like iPhone users, even those who own a iPad from now on they can download theultimo major update of Apple’s operating system for its tablets. iPadOS 17 it is in fact officially available for download and introduces new ways to customize your device and new features to improve productivity and entertainment.

iPadOS 17 is officially available: the highlights of the update
- iPadOS 17 allows the lock screen customization with new animated wallpapers (like Astronomy) and widgets to consult with a quick glance (weather, time, date, calendar events, battery and more).
- The Home screen is enriched with i interactive widget: just one tap is enough to start playing a song or access the Home app controls.
- There are some applications that go well with the system app Messages: just tap on the “+” button to consult the complete list.
- Within the Messages app, i voice messages they can be transcribed: it is a very useful solution for discovering the content of a message even when it is not possible to listen to it.
- Still in the Messages app, it is inaugurated a new section with all the stickers with which to personalize conversations (live stickers, emoji, memoji, sticker packs and so on).
- Con FaceTime you can leave a video (or audio) message. It is a feature designed for when the recipient of the call cannot answer at that precise moment or to celebrate a special moment. And, as in the case of iOS 17, there is also support for Apple TV and effects.
- L’app Salute finally arrives on iPad, optimized for the larger displays of made-in-Cupertino tablets.
- Con Apple Pencil and the app Note you can take notes or draw on documents PDF. And all changes are synchronized on the devices of those who collaborate on a shared project.
- They are Safari they arrive profiles: history, extensions, panel groups, cookies and favorites for each individual profile.
- In Freeform there are new tools for drawing, such as a watercolor brush, a stylus pen and a variable width pen.
- Also improved Stage Manager: Windows can be moved and resized more freely.
- The trigger phrase to activate Apple’s virtual assistant changes from “Hey, Siri” to – more simply – “Siri”.

How to install the update
To start download first and then install iPadOS 17 you need to go to iPad in Settings → General → Software Update. The update may take longer than expected due to its size (several GB) and traffic on Apple’s servers.
