Appreciated in the deep learning sector by customers such as Amazon, the US Department of Defense, and MIT, the American Lambda Labs has collaborated with the manufacturer Razer (which may have made available the know-how of some of its Razer Blades), in the introduce a new laptop, the Lambda Tensorbook, hailed as the most powerful laptop for machine learning and functions related to the development of artificial intelligence.

Aesthetically, the Lambda Tensorbook looks like a thin laptop, in silver aluminum, without any whimsy, in the name of an extremely portable chassis (116.9 x 355 x 235 mm for 2.1 kg).

The camera body houses several ports perimeter, including a 3.5 mm jack for headphones and microphone, a slot for fast SD memory cards (UHS-III), one HDMI 2.1, three USB 3.2 2nd gen Type-A and two USB Type-C with Thunderbolt 4 (one of which for battery power, 80 Wh, unless you opt for the input specifically dedicated to the 230 watts charger). To prevent the user from getting stuck in an SSH connection with a remote server, the intended hardware is able to train and demonstrate the elaborated deep learning models locally from a GUI interface. This becomes possible since an octacore processor (4.6 GHz maximum) i7-11800H of the 11th generation Intel, Tiger Lake family, combined with an Nvidia RTX 3080 graphics card with Max-Q architecture and 16 GB of dedicated VRAM memory (GDDR6 type) .

The 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM amounts to 64 GB, while the NVMe SSD storage, with PCIe 4.0 interface, reaches 2 TB of capacity. By default, the Lambda Tensorbook runs the Linux Ubuntu 20.04 LTS operating system, plus the brand’s premium industry software, including TensorFlow, Nvidia’s CUDA, Pytorch, various drivers, etc, included in the Lambda Stack package. To date, it is already possible to buy the Lambda Tensorbook on the manufacturer’s website, starting from a price list of 3,499 dollars (about 3,231 euros) which includes a year of warranty: modularly, as long as you spend more, you can add another year of warranty, cloud credits, premium-level specialized support, and dual booting with Windows 10.
