In these hours Threads has become a trending topic again, but not because traffic has taken off. Meta’s social network – that’s sort of response to X (formerly Twitter) – requires an account Instagram to be used and, shortly, it will welcome a new feature loudly requested by its users: the possibility of cancellare l’account Threads without having to also delete that of the platform for photos, videos and stories.
The option just described will soon be available in a new section called “delete or deactivate profile”. The announcement came officially from Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram. The post was shared on Threads (obviously), of which we attach a screenshot below:
Meta’s Instagram division therefore kept its promise: it listened to users, examined various possibilities and, finally, announced the possibility of deleting only the Threads account.
In reality, Mosseri also revealed another new feature, namely the implementation of a way to disable the display of Threads posts on Facebook and Instagram, Meta’s other two social networks. The feature was spotted for the first time just a few days ago and will soon be available to all users.
Speaking of users, the Twitter-like social network it is not yet available in Europe. The platform currently has around 100 million monthly users (according to Mark Zuckerberg), a number that is expected to increase in the future. Yes, because it wouldn’t be long now before Threads made its debut in the boot market: the web version is in fact already available in Europe and is also correctly localised.
