The wave of announcements from Xiaomi does not stop which, after the intelligent washing machine of the past few hours, has returned to dealing with home automation, through another collaboration with Mijia which materialized in the MIJIA 630L Refrigerator Ice Crystal.
There is no doubt that the Korean brand Samsung is among the brands that dominate the smart refrigerator segment. Behind the Seoul giant, however, there are also completely unexpected brands, even if not new in home automation, such as Xiaomi which after announcing a front-loading smart washing machine, has made official, again thanks to Mijia, also the new MIJIA 630L Refrigerator Ice Crystal.
Structurally, the new Xiaomi smart fridge has a brushed aluminum finish, in the Morandi gray color, with a glass surface coating (hence the reference in the name, “Ice crystal”), easy to care for in the sense of cleaning, anti-smoke , and anti-scratch: conceived with a double door design, the MIJIA 630L Refrigerator Ice Crystal has an internal volume increased by 50%, now equal to 630 liters, divided between the 223 liters destined for the freezer on the left, and the 407 liters destined for the refrigerator , on the right, under the banner of a scientifically divided volume.
Specifically, the Xiaomi fridge offers 20 compartments, as well as 6 drawers, equally divided between 3 for the freezer section and 3 for the refrigerator section. In operation, the MIJIA 630L Refrigerator Ice Crystal uses an Embraco inverter compressor, which the company has guaranteed for 10 years, very energy efficient (with a daily consumption of 0.95 kWh) and also very quiet (36 decibels).
Compared to most of the competitors, which uses a direct cooling system, the MIJIA 630L Refrigerator Ice Crystal uses a 360 ° one, better as it is faster and characterized by a more uniform action: further benefits, then, are brought by a deodorization module that decomposes odors, and a UV sterilization system, which sterilizes the various compartments. The interior also houses a display, from which to adjust the settings and see at what temperatures the fridge is regulated which, being smart, can also be controlled via voice commands to the proprietary assistant XiaoAI, or via applications (Mijia app, Xiaomi Mi Home) remotely.
Currently, the MIJIA 630L Refrigerator Ice Crystal is available on the Chinese domestic market, in pre-order at a price of 3,499 yuan (about 500 euros), against 4,299 yuan (614 euros) of the final price: there are no indications regarding a his eventual arrival in Europe.
