One month after the first official previews, the new Modern AM272 12M all-in-one computer was finally made official, also made by MSI in a variant with more ergonomic adjustment possibilities.

As promised at the MSIology event, the Taiwanese brand MSI presented a new all-in-one computer, the Modern AM272 12M, also in the Modern AM272P 12M version, suitable for home workers and offices, but not much for the creatives of multimedia.

The new space-saving all-in-one Modern AM272 12M (443.42 × 611.75 × 175.09 mm for 7.42 kg) is differentiated from its near-twin Modern AM272P 12M by its being able to be adjusted only in inclination, while the latter also supports height adjustment. (for which opportunity it weighs 1.6 kg more): both models are equipped with the 75 mm × 75 mm VESA connection to be mounted on the wall and are cadenced in black and white-gray tones.

At the top, there is a FullHD webcam, which supports Windows Hello authentication via infrared (provided by the Windows 11 Home operating system), has a physical shutter for privacy, and the TobiiAware tool, which blurs the content when you watch it. from hidden positions and locks the PC when you move away from the screen. On the sides, there are two 2.5W speakers with DTS audio support. On the front, there is a resolute 27-inch IPS LCD panel at 1920 x 1080 pixels, with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Behind, inside, lies the modem for Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E but, above all, the processing array that relies on 12th generation Intel Alder Lake mobile processors.

In this case, the manufacturer has made available, as part of the P series, two 12-core CPUs (4 performing) with 16 threads, including the i5-1240P (4.40 GHz maximum) and the i7-1260P (4.7 GHz in Turbo Boost), assisted by integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics cards, respectively with 80 and 96 processing cores. The RAM (DDR4 3200) can reach a maximum of 64 GB through two SO-DIMM banks, while the storage includes a slot for an M.2 SSD and a 2.5 “SSD, for an SSD (solid state hard disk) or a HDD (mechanical hard disk).

Finally, in terms of ports, the all-in-one Modern AM272 12M has the input for the power supply, the one for the Kensington anti-theft device, the audio combo jack, one HDMI, the RJ45 for the LAN, and six USB : of these, four are Type-A (two 2.0 and two 3.2), while the remaining two are 3.2 Type-C. At the moment, the price is not yet known but, to get an idea, it is useful to know that the previous model, with 11th generation Intel processors, is still on sale starting at roughly 1,150 euros.
