The very dense Huawei event recently concluded in Turkey has allowed Huawei to unveil, among the many new products, also two new smartphones of the Nova pioneering series, represented by the Huawei Nova Y90 and Nova Y70.
During an event organized by Huawei in Istanbul, in addition to the re-display of some revolutionary recent products ready for the global market (e.g. the MateBook D116 and D16s notebooks, the MatePad Paper tablet with e-ink, and the Mate Xs 2 folding phone ), the Chinese brand has also unveiled new products including, in addition to the premium FreeBuds Pro 2 earphones, also the Nova Y90 and Nova Y70 smartphones, which go along with the already well-known Nova 9 SE model, thus still demonstrating confidence in the telephone business. put to the test by the US ban.
The Nova Y90 is provided in the colors crystal blue, emerald green, pearl white, midnight black, applied to a chassis (163.3 x 74.7 x 8.4 mm for 195 grams) with a perforated display in the upper center, equipped with a scanner for fingerprints on the side in the power On / OFF, and a magnificent central bumper on the back. Starting from the “face”, the Nova Y90 dedicates 94% screen-to-body to the reactive (90 Hz refresh rate, 270 Hz touch sampling) FullView LCD IPS display with 16.7 million colors, resolved in FullHD + (therefore to 2388 × 1080 pixels), with a diagonal of 6.7 inches.
The selfiecamera (f / 2.0) stops at 8 megapixels. The rear of the smartphone places a glossy disc in the center, with reflections that radiate from the center, ideally ending with the triple camera sensors crossing at “hours”, at 13, at 17 and at 19 of a hypothetical clock. , present together with the Flash LED as a 50 megapixel main sensor (f / 1.8), a 2 megapixel secondary sensor for depth and a 2 megapixel tertiary sensor for macros (always f / 2.4).
Together with the Adreno 610 GPU, the octacore processor (2.4 GHz) Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 drives the Nova Y90, enjoying 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage: the 5,000 mAh battery charges quickly via Type-C, reaching 50% in half an hour thanks to the 40W SuperCharge owner. The energy is also more than sufficient for the remaining hardware, including in terms of connectivity of the dual SIM but limited to 4G, NFC, 3.5 mm mini-jack, GPS (Beidou, Galileo, Glonass, QZSS) , Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 5.0. The operating system, under the EMUI 12 interface, is a depleted Android version of the Play Store and Google Services, replaced by the brand’s proprietary solutions (App Gallery, Huawei Services, Petal Maps, Petal Search, etc).
In pearl white, midnight black, and crystal blue, comes the Nova Y70 (168.3x 77.7 x 8, .98 mm for 199 grams). The latter has a 6.75-inch FullView TFT LCD display resolved in HD + (1600 x 720 pixels, 260 PPI) capable of occupying 90.26% of screen-to-body: the selfiecamera, always in the hole in the top center, remains 8 megapixel (f / 2.0, with an algorithm capable of creating “virtual 3D models down to the level of individual hair strands”).
On the back, a small pill on the left, with a series of dashes along the perimeter of the bumper, vertically incorporates the sensors of the triple camera, 48 (f / 1.8), 5 (120 ° ultra-wide angle, f / 2.2), and 2 ( depth, f / 2.4) megapixel. On the audio level, there is the 3.5 mm mini-jack, and the proprietary optimizations SuperSound and Histen 9.1. On the side, on the frame also in this flat case, there is the fingerprint scanner.
Powered by an unspecified processor, the Nova Y70 boasts 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable via microSD of 512GB. On the energy level, credited with 6,000 mAh, which allow you to recharge only 2 times a week, the Nova Y70 benefits from the 22.5W SuperCharge (in 10 minutes you can recover 3 hours of video playing) and an optimization of consumption so that, from the residual 5% of energy and with smart savings, up to 12 hours of operation can be obtained. The connections are closed, with GPS (A-GPS, Beidou, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS), Wi-Fi n monoband, dual SIM with 4G, and Bluetooth 5.1.
