OnePlus Nord N20 5G: official the economic mid-range with AMOLED and Snap 695

After having amazed at the beginning of the year with the top-of-the-range model OnePlus 10 Pro, the BBK brand has returned to devote itself to the economic models of the Nord series which, over the course of 2 years, have substantiated themselves into 7 “brothers” including a variant of the Nord 2 dedicated to Pac-Man. To these models, in the past few hours, another representative of the OnePlus Nord N20 5G has just been added.

The new smartphone, placed a step above N200 in order to collect the legacy of the previous OnePlus Nord N10, stands out for its great elegance, with a front without a notch, of the OnePlus Nord N20 5G rdi plates on the sides (on the left populated by the volume rocker, on the right by the power button, and therefore with the absence of the Alert Slider) and a back full of contrasts, with a bottom that is always flat except for the rings that contain some of the photographic sensors , and a glossy finish at the bottom and a satin finish on the rest of the surface.

Side A of the OnePlus N20 5G (159.8 x 73.1 x 7.7 mm) includes an AMOLED display, which allows the placement under its surface of an optical fingerprint: the panel, diagonalized at 6.43 inches, has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, then FullHD + with 409 PPI, according to an aspect ratio of 20: 9, with 60 Hz refresh rate which, according to COO Pete Lau, is the compromise chosen to abandon the previous 90 Hz LCD (without impacting too much on costs and autonomy) . The hole in the top left of the screen hides a 16 megapixel self-camera.

The back offers a triple camera, together with the LED flash: to compose it are a main sensor from 64, one ultra-wide angle from 8 and one for depth from 2 megapixels.

Supporting the imaging is the Adreno 619 graphics card, brought as a dowry to the OnePlus N20 5G by the octacore Snapdragon 695 processor which, alongside the 6 cost-effective Cortex A55 cores, is supported by 2 performing 2.2 GHz Cortex A78: the mnemonic set-up expected for the target market is 6 GB in terms of RAM, and 128 GB in terms of storage, expandable via microSD by another 512 GB.

Complete with GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Dual SIM with 4 and 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, 3.5 mm mini-jack, via microUSB Type-C the OnePlus N20 5G quickly charges (33W SuperVOOC) the 4,500 mAh battery, able to go to 50% in half an hour. For the operating system under the OxygenOS interface, we opted for Android 11, with the 12 that will come later.

Regarding the distribution, with a good chance that it will imitate its predecessor also landing in the Old Continent, the OnePlus Nord N20 5G will make its debut in the USA on April 28th, at a price of 282 dollars (about 261 euros).
