Little fat, as they say among the insiders who attended the day one of the Google I / O 2022, with the giant of search engines that, between a preview and the other, regarding the future Pixel 7, at next Google Watch (circular, rounded, in recycled stainless steel, with tactile crown, and functions borrowed from the Fitbit subsidiary), and even a Pixel tablet, but scheduled for 2023, presented both the mid-range Pixel 6a smartphone, than the Pixel Buds Pro earphones.

The Pixel Buds Pro earphones, written in Coral, Lemongrass, Charcoal and Fog colors, are waterproof against sweat and drops of water according to the IPX4 standard: button-shaped, but deep, with an angled nozzle ending with silicone pads (present in 3 sizes in the package), host an audio chip, structured according to 6 cores, suitable for implementing special algorithms for active noise cancellation, ANC, optimized by the Silent Seal function which – mindful of the fact that everyone has different ears – ensures that you cancel as much noise as possible, while the Transparency mode lets some sounds pass when necessary, perhaps for safety purposes.

During phone calls, it is always possible to benefit from noise cancellation, as well as from the echo of the wind, to ensure that, to the interlocutor, the user’s voice arrives clear and without unwanted “accompaniments”. Another audio boost will arrive towards the end of the year, with a software update that will activate the immersion of spatial audio.

The Pixel Buds Pro earphones do not lack smart functions, such as the action of special sensors which, by ascertaining excessive pressure in the ear canal, come into action to maximize comfort during long wear: with the “Volume EQ” function, when changes volume, perhaps because you pass from a podcast to music, the system will take care of calibrating the mids, lows and highs, to “maintain a balanced audio profile”, while the Multipoint in favor of Bluetooth will ensure that the device, which can connect to smartphone, computer, smart TV, you automatically switch from one of the last two paired devices to the other (quickly, via Fast Pair, if in regards to an Android device). Last but not least, thanks to Assistant it will be possible to obtain various forms of support, including real-time translation in 40 languages. Obviously, if lost or forgotten who knows where, you can use Google’s “Find my device” feature to try to recover them.

On the autonomy side, the Pixel Buds Pro earphones ensure 11 hours of autonomy without ANC, or 7 with the latter, which rise to 31 (without ANC) with the case (IPX2 waterproof) that can be charged both via microUSB Type-C and wirelessly Qi. Pre-orders will start in the US in July, at $ 199.
