Redmi 10 Power: surprise official low cost with maxi battery and Snapdragon 680

A little surprisingly, in the Indian launch event held by Redmi for the Redmi 10A model, the sub-brand of Xiaomi has formalized a small surprise, as a low-cost smartphone Redmi 10 Power.

The Redmi 10 Power (Power Black, Sport Orange), substantially based on the specifications of the Redmi 10, has a 9.13 mm thick chassis, with a weight of 203 grams: the front is characterized by a water drop notch, in which it is placed the 5 megapixel self-camera. Always protected by a Gorilla Glass 3 glass, under the rest of the front surface there is a 6.71-inch IPS LCD display, resolute in HD +, with a refresh rate of 60 Hz not exactly ideal for gaming.

The fingerprint scanner is placed behind, but in an unusual position: in particular, it can be found in the square bumper which, to the left of the coverback, has a dual camera with LED Flash at the top, consisting of a 50 megapixel main sensor (f / 1.8), and a secondary 2 megapixel (f / 2.4), intended for the acquisition of depth.

In the specifications scheme advertised by Redmi India, the octacore processor (2.4 GHz) Snapdragon 680, connected to the integrated graphics card Adreno 610, and modem provider for 4G appears: the only mnemonic set-up envisaged contemplates 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage (UFS 2.2, expandable via microSD of 1 TB), although mention is made of the RAM Booster functionality which, in the specific model, would add another 3 GB taken from the ROM to the volatile memory, useful for multi-tasking.

Equipped with connectivity such as GPS (A-GPS, Glonass), Dual SIM with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi ac dual band, and Bluetooth 5.0, the inexpensive Realme 10 Power does not miss the 3.5 mm mini-jack and a port Type-C with which to charge, at 18W, the full-bodied battery included, with a capacity of 6,000 mah, sufficient for over a day of standard routine. The choice of the operating system fell on the now outdated Android 11, covered by the very recent MIUI 13 interface.

For the price, the manufacturer has set a list of 14,999 rupees, about 181 euros, which will place it in direct competition with the Galaxy A13 4G that Samsung will always offer in India starting from the same amount as Xiaomi’s low cost.
