Intent on updating its RedmiBook Pro 2022 line of notebooks, Xiaomi – putting aside the 12th generation Intel processors used for the March versions – has picked up AMD’s latest creations for its premium notebook, now in an improved Ryzen Edition. The RedmiBook Pro 2022 notebook employs an aluminum chassis, precision machined with CNC machines and given a matte finish through a sandblasting process.

The smaller version (315.6 x 220.4 x 15.9 mm, for 1.45 kg), RedmiBook Pro 14 2022 Ryzen Edition, mounts a 14-inch display, resolved in 2.5K according to an aspect ratio of 16:10, with 1000: 1 contrast ratio, 300 nits maximum brightness (with the Fn + S combo disabling auto brightness), 100% sRGB color gamut coverage, delta E <1.5 color accuracy, and 120 Hz refresh rate. The audio section, on the other hand, has two 2W speakers.

Compared to the Ryzen 5 5500U and Ryzen 7 5700U APUs used in 2021, this year two 45W TDP chips, namely the Ryzen 5 6600H (TSMC 6 nanometer lithography, Zen 3+ architecture, 6 cores and 12 threads, are running at full speed). with integrated Radeon 660M 6-core 1.9 GHz graphics card with RDNA 2 architecture) and Ryzen 7 6800H (8 cores and 16 threads, with 12-core 2.4 GHz Radeon 680M iGPU). With two fans, the dual-channel 6,400 MHz LPDDR5 RAM always amounts to 16 GB, against the 512 GB of the SSD storage with PCIe 4.0 interface: among the ports, HDMI 2.0, USB Type-A, 3.5 mm combo jack, and USB Type-C (with which to charge the 56 Wh battery at 100W, credited with 10 hours of autonomy).

The largest model, RedmiBook Pro 15 2022 Ryzen Edition, autonomous for about 14 hours via 72 Wh battery, adopts a 15.6-inch IPS LCD display, resolved in 4K (3,200 x 2,000 pixels) according to an aspect ratio of 16:10: the visual area, with 400 nits peak, has 1500: 1 contrast, a wide coverage (100%) on the sRGB color space, always a remarkable color accuracy (deltaE <1.5), but 90 Hz refresh installments. Also in this case, as in the 14 ”iteration, the sensor for the ambient brightness and the DC dimming appear.

Under the backlit keyboard, the same Ryzen processors appear here too, 5 6600H and 7 6800H with integrated GPUs, 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage: however, in this case there is also the option for the dedicated GeForce GPU RTX 2050 added with 4 GB of DDR6 VRAM memory reserved for your duties. Equipped like its younger brother of Wi-Fi 6 / ax, the 15 “RedmiBook Pro 15 2022 Ryzen Edition includes Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB 3.2 (Type-A 1st gen, Type-C 2nd gen), HDMI 2.0, combo 3.5 mm jack, to which adds a UHS-II SD card reader.
