Samsung returns to the “crime scene” and despite having already fielded the next S21 FE, it has revived the previous Galaxy S20 Fan Edition which, in the 2022 iteration, limits the colors, lowers the price, but includes in the purchase kit AKG earphones
The past few hours have been marked by many announcements in the house of the South Korean Samsung which, after decreeing the obsolescence of the Galaxy S9 (which from this month will not even receive the quarterly security updates), solved several vulnerabilities (including the Dirty Pipe) with the April patches for the OneUI, also brought to the Galaxy Buds 2 the immersion of the 360 Audio typical of the Buds Pro, curiously announced at home the former top range Galaxy S20 FE 2022.
Fielded a few months after the Galaxy S21 FE, the “newcomer” is the almost perfect translation of the original model. The display, with a hole at the top for the self-camera (32 mpx wide angle with autofocus), protected by Gorilla Glass 3, including an underlying fingerprint, is a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED in 20: 9, resolved in FullHD + (407 PPI ), with 120 Hz refresh rate. On the back the classic vertical totem houses the triple camera.
The photographic section facing third parties is composed of a main sensor of 12 (f / 1.8, two-phase focus, optical stabilization), one ultra-wide angle (123 °) of 12 (f / 2.2), and one telescopic ( 3x optical zoom) from 8 (f / 2.0, optical stabilization, autofocus). The audio relies on two speakers calibrated by the subsidiary AKG.
The presence of Snapdragon’s octacore Snapdragon 865 processor does not change, in a context that for memories only provides for the availability of 6 GB for RAM and 128 GB for storage (UFS 3.1). Connectivity includes GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, 4G LTE, 5G (Sub6 / mmWave, not standalone), microUSB Type-C and Dex (also) wireless. The battery, contained in the IP68 waterproof metal chassis, is 4,500 mAh and can be quickly charged to 15W (using an increasingly rare charger in the package), supports reverse charging.
Moving on to the differences compared to the original model, the same are 3. First of all, the 2022 edition costs less, being priced at 699,600 won (about 527 euros) against the 899,600 won (676 euros) of the other version: this is also for reason of the fact that only three alternative color options are possible (Cloud Lavender, Cloud White and Cloud Navy). On the other hand, however, you will not have to think about a “poorer” purchase package, since – for the requested amount – you will also get the AKG earphones.
