Samsung limits Galaxy AI features to new and 2023 devices

The latest event in San Jose, where Samsung officially unveiled its new Galaxy S24 range, it was key. From that moment a new era opened, that of artificial intelligence on smartphones. No, we’re not just talking about help in taking photos and some additional functionality from voice assistants, but about new features that simplify the everyday use of a smartphone.

The Galaxy Unpacked was the right time for Samsung to bring many important features to life, enclosing them under the name “Galaxy AI“. The company also confirmed that all these new features will be available on the Galaxy S24 series and older devices, including the S23 series, S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 series, Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. These are therefore the released products now and into 2023, at least for now.

The matter is much simpler than one might believe, with people’s intuition having already identified the reason for limiting the AI features to only products released now and during 2023. As Samsung spokespersons know, new experiences based on artificial intelligence can only express themselves at their maximum performance with CPU and GPU of a certain level.

At least for the moment, therefore, Samsung is moving forward in small steps, guaranteeing innovations to the most performing and up-to-date devices. Furthermore, the company reserves the right to learn from user usage to possibly extend its Galaxy AI package.

At the moment, owners of devices released during 2023 are waiting for these features to officially arrive. At the same time, as explained, Samsung does not close the door to products released even earlier, perhaps during 2022. There will certainly be further updates during the next few months.
