Although its presentation is expected for next 13 July, with the distribution scheduled subsequently in some markets of the Middle East, Asia and Europe, the new Samsung rugged phone, known as XCover 6 Pro, heir to the model of March 2021, is essentially became official thanks to the anti-time publication of its entire technical data sheet, with accompanying marketing material, on the German portal of the Korean company.

Designed in black color, Samsung’s Galaxy XCover 6 Pro has a chassis (168.8 x 79.9 x 9.9 mm for 235 grams) waterproof according to the IPS68 standard and resistant according to MIL-STD-810H tests: the look is almost entirely from a smartphone normal, with corner reinforcements, present, very discreet. On the left there is a colored button, programmable for the push-to-talk function, or to call up other functions or apps of your own taste, such as those for scanning barcodes: on the right, however, there is also the scanner for fingerprints, with security, also supervised by face scanning, entrusted to the Knox cryptographic chip.

The screen of Samsung’s XCover 6 Pro, usable even with gloves or wet fingers, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus +, is a 6.6-inch PLS LCD, resolved in FullHD + (1080 x 2408 pixels), with up to 120 Hz refresh installments. The self-camera, located in a waterdrop notch, is 13 megapixel, with fixed focus and aperture at f / 2.2: behind, assisted by a dual LED flash, a double copper ring vertically aligns the sensors of the dual rear camera, from 50 (main, f / 1.8, 10x digital zoom, autofocus, video up to 4K UHD @ 30fps, slow motion HD @ 240fps), and 8 (ultra-wide angle, f / 2.2) megapixels. The audio, boosted in volume compared to the predecessor, supports Dolby Atmos and counts on two microphones.

In the Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro operates the octacore (2.4 GHz) 6 nanometer mid-range Snapdragon 778G processor, with Adreno 642L GPU: the memory set-up provides 6 GB for RAM and 128 GB for storage, which can be expanded of 1 TB via microSD, thanks to the tripartite slot that does not take up space for the two SIMs, ready for 5G. Still on the subject of fast connectivity, there are also Bluetooth 5.2 and, for the permanent internet, Wi-Fi 6E.

There is no shortage of GPS (Beidou, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS) for localization, NFC for payments, and microUSB 3.2 Type-C: the latter charges quickly, at 15W, the 4,050 mAh battery (20 hours of video, 115 hours of music playing), replaceable, and also loadable via magnetic Pogo Pins. The operating system, under the proprietary interface, complete with DeX support for use on larger screens, is Android 12.
