In the past few hours, the German brand Sennheiser has started pre-orders for its new pair of premium wireless headphones from the Momentum series which, in the guise of Momentum True Wireless 3, improve in several areas, starting with active noise cancellation.
After launching its sports earphones, the German brand Sennheiser has given a worthy heir to the 2020 Momentum 2 premium earphones, fielding the new Momentum True Wireless 3 wireless earpods, cadenced in white, black, and graphite colors, with pre-orders just started (for the sum of 249.90 euros) and deliveries from 10 May.
The Momentum True Wireless 3 earphones are 16% more compact than their predecessors, even if stylistically reminiscent of the CX and CX Plus models: in addition, they benefit from IPX4 waterproofing and a certain lightness (11.6 grams per unit). The case (66.4 grams) retains the previous shape, but is covered with a fabric, and moves the Type-C port in front for wired charging (to which the wireless one is also added). Moving on to the substance, the new earphones feature the famous 7mm TrueResponse dynamic drivers made in Germany, capable of ensuring clear highs, natural mids and deep lows.
Using a hearing test, you can customize the audible, medium, low and high frequencies. Also usable one at a time, with a system that puts them in standby when removed from the ears, the Momentum True Wireless 3 earphones have three microphones on each side (six in total), two of which beamforming on the front and one pointing into the cavity headset.
Their purpose is to ensure clear calls, but also to participate in the active cancellation, ANC, of noise, which takes place adaptively, in the sense that the earphone system continuously monitors the environment and adapts the ANC to the perceived noise. (in any case, via the app it is possible to activate the transparency mode and customize the noise cancellation). In the Momentum True Wireless 3 earphones, the controls are made by touching the external walls, while the connection with the source (no multi-point, unfortunately) is entrusted to Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, implemented with support for SBC, AAC and, at a height, Qualcomm codecs. . aptX and aptX Adaptive.
In terms of autonomy, the Momentum True Wireless 3 earphones (77 mAh of battery each) arrive (after full charge in 1.5 hours) to 7 hours of operation, with the case (850 mAh), which allows you to reach a total 28 hours: thanks to the fast recharge, then, in 10 minutes they recover an extra hour of use.
