After the sports models announced at the end of last summer, also in view of the current summer, the American brand SkullCandy has announced a new pair of true wireless earphones, the Mod Earbuds, able to offer, with some compromises (missing the active noise cancellation), good functions at a very competitive price.
The Skullcandy Mod earphones are of the in-ear type, with rubber pads in soft gel of three sizes, colored in True Black, IP55 certified against sweat, water splashes and gusts of dust: once inserted in the ears, they are controlled with buttons, by pressing which you can manage the volume, turn them on or off, and change the music track. From the companion app it is possible to customize the commands associated with the buttons, but not only.
Specifically, the companion app of the Skullcandy Mod earphones allows you to act on the 5-band equalizer, to activate the music, film, or podcast presets, and to activate some premium functions: with Stay-Aware it is possible to bring in a certain amount of ambient sounds, to stay aware of what is happening around us, while Clear Voice Smart Mic uses an intelligent algorithm to neutralize the surrounding noise and isolate the voice well in favor of the interlocutor during calls.
Still on the subject of advanced functionality, the Skullcandy Mod earphones – as soon as they are turned on – automatically connect to the last device to which they were paired and, via multipoint in favor of Bluetooth 5.2, they can be connected to two devices at the same time, in order to switch automatically from the audio of a film to that of an incoming call and vice versa.
Inside they house 6 mm drivers with 20Hz – 20KHz frequency response, credited with a remarkable sound pressure (95dB ± 3dB): in terms of autonomy, the Skullcandy Mod Earbuds offer up to 7 hours of operation, which add another 27 thanks to the Type-C chargeable case, being able to recover 2 extra hours after only 10 minutes of charge thanks to the Rapid Charge: currently, it is possible to pre-order them on the official store at the price of 59.99 dollars, also payable in 4 installments from $ 14.99 each.
