The presentation held last night in Hawaii by. occupied much of the news regarding the world of technology Qualcomm. The company, a leader in the world of hardware components, has unveiled its new chips, including the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for smartphones.
There was also a surprise, actually anticipated several times by the rumors of the last few weeks the presentation of the chipset Snapdragon X Elite. The processor dedicated to computers arrived with a frighteningly high-performance architecture, capable of doubling the latest generation Intel Core i7, while also offering greater energy efficiency.
What was striking, however, was the presence inside this new chip from CPU Oryon. The question arose accordingly: how long will it take Qualcomm to introduce them also on chips dedicated to smartphones? It seems that an answer came from one of the company’s designers.

During the presentation event held in Maui, Hawaii, Qualcomm announced various innovations including one that concerns next 2024. Apparently the hardware component manufacturing company will introduce the CPU with architecture Orion on board the next chip dedicated to smartphones.
These statements make it clear that the first processor to host cores with this CPU will be the next one Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. In fact, the new 8 Gen 3 chip has currently been presented with cores equipped with a CPU ARM.
Next year will therefore see chips with custom cores for the first time. Most likely we will reach levels previously unexplored, which will have no difficulty keeping up with the next A18 Pro of Apple. The competition, rather than performance, will certainly focus on energy efficiency, which is currently very important for the autonomy of devices.
Clearly at the moment it is too early to make plausible predictions, so, based on these official statements, all that remains is to wait.
