The official start of the summer is just missing now and Sony has decided to be ready by pulling the beauty of three new wireless speakers belonging to the X range out of the hat: here are specifications, functions, and prices.

Fresh from the launch of the LinkBuds S earphones, the Japanese company Sony has relaunched – in view of the typical outdoor parties of the summer – with a triptych of wireless speakers of the X series, on sale in Italy from next July.
The three new speakers, SRS-XG300, SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200, are united by several factors: first of all they enjoy IP67 waterproofness against dust and water and, in addition, they allow you to manage hands-free phone calls, thanks to a microphone. with manual switch and attached echo cancellation system. Bluetooth 5.2 supports AAC, LDAC, SBC codecs and manages up to 2 devices simultaneously (multipoint). Thanks to Google Fast Pair, fast association with Android devices is guaranteed.
Compatible with the Sony Fiestable app (with functions for karaoke, playlists, light effects), the flagship and largest model (318 x 138 x 136 mm, for 3 kg) is the SRS-XG300 (gray and black, 300 EUR). Cylindrical in shape, it should be placed horizontally: at the top it has a retractable handle, which retracts into the body when not in use and, near the front, there are several buttons, including the one for the Bluetooth association, the power / shutdown, those to raise or lower the volume, to pause or start the audio (or to accept – reject calls), and the one for the Mega Bass, an eloquent function (which turns off the side LED lights and dims the maximum volume) which can also be recalled via the Music Center app. The latter also offers the equalization of high, medium and low frequencies, two profiles (the aforementioned Mega Bass and the Live Sound to simulate concerts, unless you rely on the automatic equalization, according to the content, of the Clear function Audio +).
Again from the Music Center app it is possible to set the Party Connect functions (to operate in concert up to 100 compatible speakers) and Stereo Pair (to pair two speakers assigning a channel to each, for stereo sound). Finally, from the same app you can configure the functions related to the battery, including Stamina and Battery Care (to avoid overloading the product when charging and increase its duration).
On the back, a rubber flap holds the USB Type-A (with reverse charging), the USB Type-C (to charge the speaker) and the 3.5 mm jack for karaoke.
Inside, in addition to the two 20 mm front tweeters, there are two 61 x 68 mm X Balanced woofers with rectangular diaphragms and, on the sides, (precisely surrounded by lights that can be set via app according to various schemes) two passive radiators (that’s why it is better not to keep it vertically).
The SRS-XE300 (gray, blue, black: 200 euros) and SRS-XE200 (gray, orange, black and blue: 150 euros) models decline their respective cylinders according to a 5-sided scheme, made necessary to accommodate, in addition to the speakers X Balanced, also the new Line-Shape loudspeaker which, inspired by professional concert systems, should ensure an “increase in the energy of the sound pressure” so that, compared to its predecessors, a “more uniform distribution of sound on the 180 degrees of the front surface “. To differentiate the two models, there is the fact that in the first there are full range speakers of 49 x 71 mm, while in the second they are sized at 42 x 51 mm.
On the autonomy side, the SRS-XE300 / XE200 speakers have an operation of 16 and 24 hours respectively but, via Type-C, they get fast charging (in 10 minutes you gain 70 minutes of operation).
