Sora: When will it be available and its policy on nude content

Through a recent interview with Wall Street Journalthe Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI Mira Muratirevealed details about future developments of Sora.

Murati highlighted several aspects of the work the company is implementing on the new AI tool, ranging from the fight against disinformation (a top priority for OpenAI), to security measures to avoid abuse of the platform.

Precisely regarding the aforementioned issues, she stated how Sora will follow the example of GIVE HERrefusing to create images of a political nature in the period preceding the elections. To strengthen these systems, there will also be some watermark in the contents, with the OpenAI logo clearly visible.

According to the engineer of Albanian origins, in this sense, further solutions could also be undertaken to avoid improper use of Sora. Beyond the security aspect, however, some details about the possible future of this AI tool were revealed during the interview.

Sora’s policies on politics, nudity and more

According to Murati, the developers are thinking about the possibility audio integration in videos created through Sora. This, combined with the probable introduction of refined products editing toolscould make this tool even more effective and innovative.

As the interview continued, the topic was also addressed nudity. For Murati, this would not be out of the question.

OpenAI is apparently working with some artists to figure out what kind of nude content can be allowed. Obviously, we’re talking about artistic contentwith the company wanting to distance itself from potential controversies.

When the Wall Street Journal reporter addressed a sensitive topic such as the source of the data used to train Sora, Murati made somewhat evasive comments. You yourself spoke of not knowing the sources, even if at least some of them seem to come from sources “Available publicly or under license“, including the well-known platform Shutterstock.

Finally, there was also talk about when Sora will be available to the public. For Murati, by the end of 2024 the new AI will finally be a reality.
