Spotify, as demonstrated by the recent acquisition of Findaway (a platform that allows creatives to record, share and monetize the podcasts created), continues to focus heavily on the podcast sector and, in this regard, in order to bring more and more people closer to this format, has began to test a function in support of those who already create audio episodes, but which could also tease those who always wanted to create a podcast but had given up perhaps considering it too difficult.
Lately, Spotify revealed that after investing over $ 1 billion in podcasts over the past few years, the industry – last year – posted $ 215 million in revenue: to sustain that growth, and make the commitment. vertical in the finally profitable sector, Swedish streaming has introduced, over time, several innovations in its main app, including video podcasts and podcast subscriptions. To these news, another has just been added, according to what was announced by the Twitter accounts of Spotify New Zealand and Michele Mignano, co-founder of Anchor (creation platform for podcasts, owned by Spotify since 2019: specifically , since last month, therefore from June, the test of a function has started that avoids having to turn to external apps to create podcasts, since this possibility will be explained by a tool integrated directly into the main app.
The explanatory videos shared on the internet allow you to notice how, in the test in question, when the app is opened, in the bottom bar, next to the user’s library, on the right, there is the create button: by touching it, together the possibility of assembling a new playlist also appears the one for recording a podcast.
By choosing the latter, you can record a podcast all at once, or in several sessions, taking a break from time to time.
