An ad hoc event at the Italian headquarters was an opportunity for the well-known TCL brand to present various new features, with a smart TV theme (but also soundbars), planned for distribution throughout the current year, also in the Italian market. .
During a meeting with the press at the Italian headquarters of the brand, TCL presented a good part of the 2022 smart TV range which, in the coming months, followed by the likely September announcements from the IFA in Berlin, will “attack” (also ) the local market, with options for all tastes and budgets.
Resting on a central pedestal, the C93 models (65 “with 1080 backlight zones, 75” with 1920 backlight zones, respectively from 2,500 and 3,500 euros) and C83 (55, 65, 75 ‘, respectively at 1,599, 1,999, and 2,999 euros), intended to challenge the LG QNED 2022 and the Samsung Neo QLED 2022, are characterized by the Quantum Dot filter and the mini LED backlight (inaugurated by the company at IFA 2018). Elegant in design, they mark a step forward in terms of materials and assembly compared to what was seen with the C82 model.
On the visual front, characterized by support for HDR standards, including Dolby Vision, they integrate 4K panels with 144 Hz refresh rate: the increase of the local dimming control zones (about 1,000 in the C93) will bring even deeper blacks and a higher maximum brightness (2,000 nits in the C93, 1,000 in the C83), making this duet a formidable challenger for the Samsung QN95B series. On the audio side, in both models the support for Dolby Atmos is confirmed and the collaboration with the Japanese brand Onkyo which is particularly enhanced in the dedicated but integrated front soundbar, set up in the C93 iteration, although both models have a generous subwoofer on the back .
According to the TCL country manager for Italy, Andrea Musella, the models that use miniLED backlighting will uniformly characterize the models: the mini LEDs now have a round rather than a squared emission, for shapes rendered so more natural and harmonious, they enjoy a 16-bit modulation that ensures an extreme and fluid gradualness, without steps, of the brightness along 6,500 levels, they are chaired by a control that minimizes latency, with response times invisible to the human eye (1/120 of a second, 0.0083 seconds). In order to ensure uniform backlighting, all the mini LEDs used offer the same color temperatures, emissivity response and quality while, thanks to the adoption of the De-Mura circuit, the backlighting will no longer return a textured effect on uniform colors (as can be seen in the case of fields of football).
The C73 models (55 “for 999 euros, 65” for 1,500 euros, 75 “to 1,999 euros) and C63 (599 euros for 43”, 1,599 euros for 75 “) are placed in the medium-low range. The latter always have the Quantum Dot matrix, but fall back on the more traditional backlight, QLED. The C73 model reaches 144 Hz and features a switch to quickly switch to Game Master mode which, for example, unlocks ad hoc features such as auto-lowering latency (ALLM) and variable refresh rate (VRR). In terms of high dynamic range, all HDR formats are present, including HDR10 + and Dolby Vision. The C63 model “undergoes” less advanced electronics, but also features 32 ”cuts for those with little space.
The smart TVs in question will enjoy the Google TV operating system under the Smart TV interface and will integrate a Health Hub to train bodyweight in front of the TV, benefiting from the virtual training of multiple free exercises. Furthermore, the TVs of the two aforementioned ranges will be accompanied by two remote controls supplied, so that the traditional one can be used as an alternative to the advanced one with the classic references to the well-known streaming services.
The occasion of the TCL event turned out to be propitious also to show some new soundbars, the C935U, P733W and S522W, equipped with the RAY DANZ technology which should guarantee a better positioning of the sounds in space, even in the absence of physical and actual speakers. additional arranged in space.
