Punctual for the appointment, Realme completed the presentation of the Q5 models by also fielding the Realme Q5 standard and Pro smartphones, animated by Android 12 and with many tricks up its sleeve.
A few hours after the launch of the basic model, Realme of the BBK group presented in China the remaining members of the Realme Q5 series, represented by the intermediate Realme Q5 and the handsome Realme Q5 Pro, united by the software as they are equipped with Android 12 under the proprietary Realme UI 3.0 interface.
In terms of design, the Realme Q5 (164.3 × 75.6 × 8.5 mm, for 195 grams), inspired by the look of the Realme 9 Pro, with translucent colors (Dusk, Phantom, Sunrise Blue). The front features a 6.6-inch LCD display resolved in FullHD + (2400 × 1080 pixels), with 120 Hz refresh rate (according to 6 levels), 240 Hz touch sampling, and a maximum brightness of 600 nits: in the hole at the top on the left is the 16 megapixel self-camera, entrusted to a Sony IMX471 sensor with f / 2.05 focal aperture. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the side.
Behind, the rectangular bumper offers a triple camera with LED flash, in which the two 2 megapixel accessory sensors, for macro and depth, are paired in a triangular setting with a 50 megapixel main sensor (f / 1.8).
The RAM, virtually expandable and of the LPDDR4x type, and the storage, of the UFS 2.2 type expandable via microSD, give rise to the 6/8 + 128 GB and 8 + 256 GB configurations. In all cases in the Realme Q5 the octacore processor (2.2 GHz) Snapdragon 695 operates with the 619L GPU, made with 8 nanometers of lithography.
Classic connectivity, with pure Dual SIM for 4G and 5G standalone and not, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi ac dual band, GPS (Beidou, Glonass) and Type-C, a 5,000 mAh battery is integrated in the Realme Q5, which can be charged quickly (by 50% in 16 minutes) at 60W. Recommended prices are 1399 yuan (201 euros) for 6 + 128, 1,599 yuan (230 euros) for 8 + 128 GB, and 1,799 yuan (259 euros) for 8 + 256 GB.
The Realme Q5 Pro model (162.9 × 75.8 × 8.65 mm, for 194.5 grams) has a rear that, not affected by the light, seems uniform in the colors (Summer, Phantom, Snow White): however, under the impact of light, thanks to a screen printing process that uses fluorescent particles at the nanometer scale, it takes on a checkerboard design in the style of VANS: the design of the multi-chamber is practically identical to that of the Realme GT Neo 2 model.
Side A, protected by a Gorilla Glass 5 glass, has an AMOLED display (E4) with integrated biometric scanner: the panel is 6.62 inches resolved in FullHD + (2400 × 1080 pixels), with 120 Hz refresh rate, 720 Hz of touch sampling (1,000 when instantaneous), HDR10 +, 1,300 peak nits, dimming according to 16,000 levels, DCI-P3 (100%) and NTSC (106%) color gamut support. The self-camera in the top left hole is always 16 megapixel.
Behind, the triple multi-camera is noticeably better, with a main sensor of 64 (OV64B, f / 1.79), one ultra-wide angle (119 °) of 8 (Hi846, f / 2.2) and one for macros (OV02B, f / 2.4) from 2 megapixels. The audio can count, however, on Hi-Res and Dolby Atmos certifications, and on stereo speakers: the 3.5 mm jack is missing, with the audio output delegated to Type-C. Again as a sensory involvement, the linear motor on the X axis is worth mentioning.
The octacore processor (3.2 GHz) Snapdragon 870 and its Adreno 650 GPU benefit from an 8-layer three-dimensional dissipation system, with a 4129 mm² stainless steel vapor chamber and a considerable thermal disposal area, overall from 17932.511 mm². LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage give rise to the 6 + 128 GB, 8 + 128 GB and 8 + 256 GB combinations, respectively priced, also in this case from April 27 with an initial discount of 100 yuan, at prices of 1,899 yuan (273 euros), 2,099 yuan (302 euros) and 2,299 yuan (331 euros).
In the Realme Q5 Pro the battery, from 5,000 mAh, thanks to the 80W of charging power, is topped up by 100% in 33 minutes and has the brand’s latest technology that guarantees its health for 1,600 charge-discharge cycles. Finally, the connectivity is the same as in the standard model illustrated above.
