After the presentation at CES 2022, JBL has brought – also in Italy, through the distributor Audiogamma, the new active and compact speakers JBL 4305P placed within the Studio Monitor line, available for purchase for the not exactly popular amount of 2,500 euros.

The two speakers (6.8 kg main, 6.4 kg secondary) JBL 4305P (336 x 210 x 223 mm) have the classic wooden chassis, black and with black grids, or satin walnut with blue grids: on the front, the buttons are positioned to adjust settings and check functions. Inside, there is a 13 cm woofer in composite material (cellulose pulp, with die-cast basket) connected to the two ducts on the front in bass reflex and a 25 mm 2410H-2 tweeter tweeter with horn loading (Advanced HDI Geometry Horns) and Teonex diaphragm.

The bi-amplification takes place in relation to the frequencies: for the high ones there is a 25-watt class D amplifier, while for the low ones there is a 125-watt class D amplifier.

In terms of ports, there are a 3.5 mm jack for the analog input, an optical digital input, balanced XLR / TRS connectors for professional sources, a USB Type-A, a USB Type-C, an Ethernet, the connector for any subwoofer and the port to which to physically connect the secondary speaker: in the case of a wired connection (2 meters of cable) between the two speakers, the converter supports the maximum resolution, equal to 192 kHz / 24bit, which drops to 96 kHz / 24 bit wirelessly.

In the JBL 4305P active speakers, Roon Ready certified and capable of playing MQA files, it is possible to obtain support for the main streaming services (eg Qobuz, granted as a free subscription for 3 months, 90 days) thanks to the integration of Bluetooth, and support for Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Chromecast. Control is via the Bluetooth remote control, or via app – Android / iOS – MusicLife.
